Sisar Creek Sanctuary in Upper Ojai, at the trailhead to Santa Paula waterfalls
Need to get AWAY and reconnect with NATURE? Need a BREAK and more GREEN? Come stay surrounded by our ancient Live Oaks, and our lush garden. We invite you to take a cool dip in the creek, hike up to the nearby Punch Bowls swim holes or walk the park-like grounds of our neighbor, the historic Thomas Aquinas college. Watch birds and critters, star gaze without the glare of bright city lights, or just relax by the fire on your private patio. 15 minutes to Ojai, 25 to Ventura beach. The space: Our cozy Trailer is modified for a more comfortable stay; it has a large external gas tank and a large external water heater so you’re never out of hot water or gas. All electricity you’ll use is generated by solar power. It is a 26 foot long free standing unit with its own outside living area designed for functional relaxation. You’ll have one true bedroom with a queen bed and two potential twin size beds that create a second ‘bedroom’; the couch folds open (this will make a bed that is a bit shorter, at the length of 5’7”, may not be suitable for taller people) and the dining table and chairs transform into a bed as well. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all necessary appliances, there is central heat and air-conditioning and a full bathroom with a toilet and bathtub. You have access to the creek, private deck and a covered patio with a gazebo top housing a charcoal BBQ and a pizza oven. You are surrounded by Live Oaks and an ever-changing flora with a large variety of cultivated and native plants. You can visit with our goats and chickens and sample farm fresh eggs and goat milk seasonally, say hello to our dogs and cats or just sit on your private deck and take in the breath taking view of the mountains around you. Santa Paula is only 10 minutes away, with a variety of convenience stores, shopping centers, movie theatre, and museums. Ojai is a 15 minute drive. Be inspired by art, taste selections from Ojai’s finest vineyards, indulge in a spa treatment, or play a round of golf. Venture on one of the many unique hiking trails nearby. Want to visit a beach town? Ventura beaches are a short 25 minute drive. Catch a boat to Channel Island National Park from there.

Great spot for those looking to get away and be surrounded by nature. Hosts were responsive and nice. I highly recommend for others to try this place out
Nice location, truly full of hummingbirds, charming
Nice location, truly full of hummingbirds, charming little cabin, sleeps 3 etc. With Better lighting to find the drive way, another blanket or 2, and better coffee and we're all good.

Thanks for staying with us, Meredith! Glad you enjoyed! Our cabin actually sleeps 4, and we prep it according to the reservation. Your reservation was for 2, but 3 people actually arrived unexpectedly in the late evening hours. We did take extra sheets for the third person and there are always extra blankets in a designated storage, this is mentioned in our guest hand book provided. We want our guests to be comfortable so we always encourage them to reach out to us with any needs during their stay, most issues can be easily fixed!
Lovely site in nature, quiet and peaceful. Trailer is about 12 miles from Ojai where we attended Okai Music Festival. The drive from Ojai is over a steep and windomountain road with construction underway—very difficult on a dark night.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. The creek was very peaceful, the animals and people were very friendly, the entire area had a really nice vibe. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.
We had a very peaceful and lovely stay. The check-in was very simple with very clear instructions. All you need is provided as well as a comfortable bed. The camper, the weather and the nearby creek provided the experience I was looking for. Camping in Ojai as a kid is one of my fondest memories and this space helped me relive those memories beautifully. The adjacent patio area was definitely a plus. Sitting under the gazebo and taking in nature was what my weary sould needed.
Szilvia's place was nothing like I expected, but everything I needed. The trailer is comfortable and surprisingly well-appointed, I had everything I needed for a week's stay. The outside space though is the star of the show; it is incredible! To say the space is quiet and tranquil is an understatement, and Szilvia herself is a kind, generous and nurturing host. The property is perfectly located between Ojai and Santa Paula and within easy reach of local beaches as well. I benefitted a great deal from my time here and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from it all.
This spot exceeded my expectations, even with an atmospheric river and wild weather! They have thought of everything. Beautiful spot. Perfect for a getaway or extended retreat. Thank you!
We really enjoyed this unique property. Located adjacent to beautiful Sisar creek and surrounded by titanic old oak trees, this is a perfect spot to relax and get away from the urban bustle. Very close to beautiful, downtown Ojai. All amenities were provided for and Szilvia was very communicative and responsive to requests. I recommend!
Beautiful trailer in an amazing setting. We really enjoyed our time there and felt very comfortable among the beautiful greenery, lovely painting, and babbling creek. My only complaint is that flushing the toilet stunk terribly. And was hard to air out. Overall, a great place and if you can find a way to either use the restroom somewhere else or get rid of the scent that emits from flushing, this place is ideal!

Hi Anneke!
What you described with the toilet smell is a very rare occurrence and only happens when our guests forget to use ample amounts of water to flush with. We do have a little note to remind everybody to do this, and our guests usually don’t have a problem with any smell. The RV toilet isn't like a regular house toilet and it works a bit different.
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay despite the toilet issues! Hope you come back to visit again and have an even better experience!
If I were to say anything was wrong, it would be that there is no posted sign above the control for the AC.

About the host
Hosted by Szilvia Beylik
I moved to California from Europe over 30 years ago and I’ve always lived in the area since then. I work as an RN and fortunate enough to come home to recharge and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity and I absolutely love to share it with people who appreciate the same! During the many years of hosting I’ve met many great people from all over the world, some arrive as guests and leave as friends!
Why they chose this property
I moved here to be surrounded by nature and away from people. It feels like it is a world away from all the craziness of the city, yet I can be at the beach in 20 minutes and I can be in LA in about 90 minutes. Great restaurants are within 10-15 minutes, it’s best if both worlds.
What makes this property unique
This property is truly one of a kind. Not only because it backs into a creek that runs all year long which keeps the surroundings unbelievably lush and green, but because it’s uniquely positioned to feel completely secluded. Most of the property backs into hills and wild nature. We are right next to the Punchbowl hiking trail. Thousands come and visit this beautiful hike each year from near and far.
