Old Pompano Getaway
The house was spacious and clean.Pros:-Plenty of seating areas and room to spread out-The house was very clean-Location was convenient: 5 mins to a grocery store or shopping, 7 minutes to the beach, 3 minutes to a gamers market on Saturdays. -There were brand new board games for us to use. -Plenty of toiletries provided. -Beach chairs and plenty of towels provided. Challenges:-The pool is not heated (has no heater) so expect it to be in the high sixties or low seventies throughout the winter months. Not ideal. Also nothing to vacuum it with so despite being cleaned the day before we arrived, the pool was full of dark colored leaves the entire time we stayed. -The hot tub, although included in the listing amenities and description, is not included in the rental. There is a 150 fee to use it for a week. It is old and does not heat up to hot for several days so that was frustrating. -Be prepared to purchase anything you would need to prepare a meal from a pantry basics standpoint. No cooking spray, no spices whatsoever, no condiments, nothing. Where we have stayed elsewhere the basics were stocked. -No icemaker in freezer. -Had a difficult time getting a hold of the host in the weeks leading up to our stay regarding a very time sensitive request. Followed up multiple times without response until the 2nd or 3rd follow up by which time it was too late to change our request anyway. Communication during our stay was fine however.
