Amazing house with the proximity to beach as described & hostess very responsive to any tiny request. ("How do you work the air conditioning, for example). The views of the lake were BETTER than described. The neighborhood is high-rent and gorgeous and we LOVED the proximity to Marquette Park and Lake street eating establishments. Don't be put off by inaccurate stereotypes of Gary Indiana, this one's really a delight.Note that host will tell you there is room for five cars in the driveway & that's true; one more in the garage makes 6. Plan on asking your guests to carpool because there is NO.STREET.PARKING. (as advertised)

A Great Lake Michigan visit

A delightful time in a comfortable, clean, interesting home. We had a great time in the home and on Lake Michigan, a two minute walk away. Hope to get back here.

We had a great stay! There was enough room for my large family and the property was clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s important to note that this property has a lot of stairs (I would add that in the listing for those with small children, elderly, or disabled). Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay, although it was for a sad occasion.

Great place

We stayed here while visiting Lake Michigan. The house was amazing and had a great location to the lake. It’s in a quiet spot, and is right at the beach access. The owner is very helpful and had the pullout and trundle set up and ready for us! We would recommend here and stay here again if ever in the area!

We loved the openness of the house and the amenities. Plenty of games and beach toys. Some of the door locks didn’t work which was tricky with different families and privacy. The pots and pans need replaced.

The owner needs to buy a WHISK for the kitchen. The walk to the beach is one-minute. Very beautiful. We used it to commute to Chicago. Worked fine for that. Don't let "Gary, Indiana" be an issue. We loved the area and walk to the beach in the morning. Light in the windows in the morning was very welcome. You can see Lake Michigan from the kitchen windows.

Everything was great aside for a confusion with the entry PIN. The actual number in the message sent was different from the information sent over in the email.

Easy beach access but not clean

The house was great. Really close to the beach with easy beach access. Plenty of room for my family and beautiful views from the kitchen and roof patio. Relaxing fire pit in backyard was a nice place to hang out and cook smores. My only complaint is that the house was not very clean. Our feet turned back from the floors. Definitely needs a good deep cleaning.

Thank you for your feedback, Traci. As you recalled, your family had arrived earlier than 3 pm, check in time, while the cleaning was still in process. Yes, another hour would have made a difference in cleanliness of the floors, but we left as you and your family deserved to start your vacation. And we explained that the guests before you left a lot of work, and even serious damage to the walls that we had to make it safe and presentable to your party. I am learning my lesson,- I should not let my standards suffer because I need to be nice and understanding.

Perfect 4th of July Getaway

We had a truly wonderful stay! We were a group of 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2.5 to 9 years old, and this home was absolutely perfect for us. One of the highlights was watching the fireworks right from the deck—shot off from the beach nearby. The proximity to the beach couldn't have been better! Just a short climb over the dune and we were on the sand. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Tons of beach gear, chairs, umbrellas, and floats made our beach days super convenient. And the kitchen was a dream! I’ve never stayed anywhere with such a well-appointed kitchen—every pot, pan, and gadget you could imagine was there. Cooking for a group was a breeze.Inside, there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out comfortably. The bedrooms had ice-cold AC, cozy bedding, and plenty of room. The living area was equally inviting with comfy couches and great TVs for winding down after long beach days. The kids loved the bunk room, hanging out and watching TV on the giant beanbag chair. The firepit and grilling area were perfect for evening hangouts, and there was ample parking for all of us.Inga was a fantastic host—responsive, helpful, and made everything easy. Check-in and check-out were smooth and simple. The home itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and felt modern and welcoming. We truly loved every moment and are already talking about coming back. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Excellent location and amenities

We were a group of two families with a mix of kids. The number of beds and the options to configure sleeping arrangements provided flexibility for our group. Beds, sheets and pillows were very comfortable, many extra blankets and bedding, if needed. Kitchen was outfitted well, we had everything we needed to stay at home and cook. Living area was bright and airy with a fresh aesthetic, nice space for a large group. Plenty of beach and bath towels, with the ability to wash at the end of the day. Even shampoo and conditioners were provided, a simple but nice convenience as we all forgot! Beautifully landscaped, terraced back yard with Adirondack chairs and Solo Stove (firewood was available). Access to beach was about 2 minutes by slow stroll. Owner encouraged us to use beach chairs, paddle boards, games, etc for fun at the beach. Neighbors were very friendly. We spent a day on Eastern side of Dunes National Park, and comparatively, Miller Beach (home’s location) was by far the nicest beach we came across. Very fine, soft sand with gradual ocean grade compared to other beaches that were rocky with a steeper grade. Short-ish walk to Marquette Park. Pay attention to daily wind warnings and rip currents. The owner responded quickly to questions and was open and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Location, location, location. This was a great house, close to a beautiful, almost empty beach that felt private, perfect for a quiet vacation. We are a family of four and didn't use all the space, so it worked out great for us. The house is spacious for a small family and has enough beds to accommodate many more, though it might feel a bit crowded with more than 8 people. The whole house is well equipped with kitchen utensils, bedroom and bathroom linens, and towels. It even came with beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and beach towels, which was a wonderful surprise since we hadn't brought any of our own. Inga kindly let us know we were welcome to use anything in the house.A couple of practical notes for future guests: the neighborhood is a mix of well-kept and more run-down homes, and every night one nearby neighbor was doing loud construction work late into the evening, completely outside of the host's control. Also worth knowing, the closest grocery store is a Walmart about 22 minutes away, so it's worth planning ahead or stocking up on the way in.Inga was a wonderful host: accommodating with our last-minute requests, responsive, and easy to work with throughout. We would definitely stay here again.
