Rivera House-fun and comfort steps from the beach

Lovingly named " Rivera House" by our friends, this cool house is located steps from the beach, combining the comfort and style of the home. It features a large, combined kitchen/dining/living room full of natural light and lake views. Two bedrooms on the second level share a full bathroom. The large room designated for children is located on the lower level of the home, and has it's own bathroom, with a walkout patio to a private backyard. 2 days minimum rental, please.
The space
Lower level of the house has a large space designed for children, and a full bathroom. 2 bunk beds and a trundle bed comfortably fits 6 children. A large Love sack chair provides nice seating for a gaming and /or TV watching.
The walkout patio leads to a fenced-in backyard. A gas grill, 6 chairs, a mobile fire pit will meet any dining and entertainment needs.
A master bedroom on the second level has 2 queen beds, a walk-in closet and an access to a full bathroom. A 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and a closet for personal belongings and a closet for supplies.
A small workspace on the 3rd level has a couch and a small work table. Great space to catch up on the emails or to read.
A roof top seating area is our favorite. We have our morning coffee there, and watch the sundown over the Lake Michigan.
In the garage, we keep 5 bikes, 2 paddle boards, 6 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas, lots of safety vests for older children and adults.
The mobile ping pong table can be rolled out onto the driveway, and used for a family Olympics evening.
Bedding, bath towels and beach towels are provided. Fully stacked kitchen,- just bring your food, your crew, sunscreen and have fun!
Guest access
Guests can access all areas of the house, except the closet contents in the hallway on the lower level, and a jet ski in the garage that is not our property.
Other things to note
Close supervision of children while enjoying a roof top seating.

We had a great stay! There was enough room for my large family and the property was clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s important to note that this property has a lot of stairs (I would add that in the listing for those with small children, elderly, or disabled). Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay, although it was for a sad occasion.

A Great Lake Michigan visit

A delightful time in a comfortable, clean, interesting home. We had a great time in the home and on Lake Michigan, a two minute walk away. Hope to get back here.

The place was such a cool spot that was close to the beach and had plenty of space for sleeping. The unit had everything you needed and more. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond with needs. Will definitely be back!

We loved the openness of the house and the amenities. Plenty of games and beach toys. Some of the door locks didn’t work which was tricky with different families and privacy. The pots and pans need replaced.

The owner needs to buy a WHISK for the kitchen. The walk to the beach is one-minute. Very beautiful. We used it to commute to Chicago. Worked fine for that. Don't let "Gary, Indiana" be an issue. We loved the area and walk to the beach in the morning. Light in the windows in the morning was very welcome. You can see Lake Michigan from the kitchen windows.

Great place

We stayed here while visiting Lake Michigan. The house was amazing and had a great location to the lake. It’s in a quiet spot, and is right at the beach access. The owner is very helpful and had the pullout and trundle set up and ready for us! We would recommend here and stay here again if ever in the area!

Easy beach access but not clean

The house was great. Really close to the beach with easy beach access. Plenty of room for my family and beautiful views from the kitchen and roof patio. Relaxing fire pit in backyard was a nice place to hang out and cook smores. My only complaint is that the house was not very clean. Our feet turned back from the floors. Definitely needs a good deep cleaning.

Perfect 4th of July Getaway

We had a truly wonderful stay! We were a group of 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2.5 to 9 years old, and this home was absolutely perfect for us. One of the highlights was watching the fireworks right from the deck—shot off from the beach nearby. The proximity to the beach couldn't have been better! Just a short climb over the dune and we were on the sand.The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Tons of beach gear, chairs, umbrellas, and floats made our beach days super convenient. And the kitchen was a dream! I’ve never stayed anywhere with such a well-appointed kitchen—every pot, pan, and gadget you could imagine was there. Cooking for a group was a breeze.Inside, there was more than enough space for everyone to spread out comfortably. The bedrooms had ice-cold AC, cozy bedding, and plenty of room. The living area was equally inviting with comfy couches and great TVs for winding down after long beach days. The kids loved the bunk room, hanging out and watching TV on the giant beanbag chair. The firepit and grilling area were perfect for evening hangouts, and there was ample parking for all of us.Inga was a fantastic host—responsive, helpful, and made everything easy. Check-in and check-out were smooth and simple. The home itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and felt modern and welcoming. We truly loved every moment and are already talking about coming back. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Excellent location and amenities

We were a group of two families with a mix of kids. The number of beds and the options to configure sleeping arrangements provided flexibility for our group. Beds, sheets and pillows were very comfortable, many extra blankets and bedding, if needed. Kitchen was outfitted well, we had everything we needed to stay at home and cook. Living area was bright and airy with a fresh aesthetic, nice space for a large group. Plenty of beach and bath towels, with the ability to wash at the end of the day. Even shampoo and conditioners were provided, a simple but nice convenience as we all forgot! Beautifully landscaped, terraced back yard with Adirondack chairs and Solo Stove (firewood was available). Access to beach was about 2 minutes by slow stroll. Owner encouraged us to use beach chairs, paddle boards, games, etc for fun at the beach. Neighbors were very friendly. We spent a day on Eastern side of Dunes National Park, and comparatively, Miller Beach (home’s location) was by far the nicest beach we came across. Very fine, soft sand with gradual ocean grade compared to other beaches that were rocky with a steeper grade. Short-ish walk to Marquette Park. Pay attention to daily wind warnings and rip currents. The owner responded quickly to questions and was open and accommodating. Highly recommended!
