The home is charming, but our stay was severely impacted by a full fire ant infestation throughout the house. Ants were all throughout the carpet, walls, bathroom, toilet, laundry room/linen closet, shower, towels, etc. We were bitten at night, and because my grandchild has asthma, using the spray provided was difficult, & we couldn’t ventilate the home due to few windows with no screens. We couldn’t really cook or eat in the home because ants were under/on the table and in the kitchen, resulting in 533.12 in unplanned dining expenses. After returning home, we found ants inside our luggage while doing laundry. Before any of this, the property manager forgot to send the check‑in instructions, so we had to message her upon arrival. When I reported the ants early, her response — “Oh, are they still there?” — made it clear this wasn’t a new issue. The spray she dropped off didn’t resolve anything. The ants got worse as the stay progressed; we just stayed away until late at nightDespite being granted an extra hour due to the infestation, we were pressured to hurry because the cleaning crew was “angry.” The manager arrived at 11:30 insisting on seeing the ants while we were dancing around the ants to pack. I had provided plenty of pictures. The property manager is rude, condescending and unprofessional. She should be fired. I do not believe she has communicated the ant issue with owners. Our family in Sargent know the owners and said they are wonderful people.
