Very nice setting bordering the forest. Host was very informative. Pet friendly although we didn’t have a pet. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard and the host had fire wood available. Watch for forest service doing controlled burns in the forest nearby.
The whole house had a fun, super welcoming, bike-y vibe--you can tell that many of these touches were personal affects and memorabilia. The kitchen was very stocked for all types of cooking--even with stainless pots/pans (Thank you for no flaking teflon!). All the rooms were clean, bathrooms well stocked, and mattresses comfy. We were well set up for outdoor campfires. Oakley the pup was quite stoked for all the dog-specific amenities for her. The house is very close to a number of biking trails and the only things we heard at night were the spring peepers. Rich was very easy to work with and available for any questions.
Our stay at the Branch House was great. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we may need, including yummy treats for Smores. The house was clean with a spacious upstairs and living room. Wifi worked great as well and the hosts were very responsive with our questions. Definitely recommend!
Had a group of friends join me for a trail running weekend. The house was clean and well stocked. A great place to come back to after playing in the forest all day! It was perfect!
We had a great time on the trails, hanging around the backyard and the fire pit. Rich was a supportive and attentive host and was a pleasure to communicate with. The property was just as advertised and in the perfect location!

Thanks for staying with us, we would love to have you back.
We loved this place. We came with friends (and our dogs) for Thanksgiving weekend, and found a warm, spacious house with a fully stocked kitchen for cooking our Thanksgiving dinner, and a beautiful fireplace in the living room. Our dogs loved the massive lawn and all the hiking nearby, including the short trail leading directly from the back garden, which was perfect for early morning walks.
My family enjoyed several days together celebrating a JMU graduation. Lovely 30 minute easy drive to campus. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and plenty of seating allowed to have meals together and enjoy each other’s company. Host directions were easy to follow and they were very responsive. Super experience!
Found this house for a small group planning to mountain bike the Reddish Knob, Stokesville, and Western Slope areas. PERFECT location for the first two with many trails ridable or easily shuttle-able from the house, and easy drive into Harrisonburg when needed. Rich was great for communication. House was clean, comfortable, well-stocked and set up for hanging out by the fire pit and storing bikes in the shed. I'd go back again several times per year if I could get off work that much!

Thanks Chris! Look forward to having you and your crew back soon!
My mom, husband, 2 dogs, and myself recently stayed at this VRBO in Dayton, VA for a 100k trail race, and it was great. The house had everything we needed and more for our outdoor adventures. We were impressed by the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness of the property owners. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, making it easy for us to prepare hearty meals before and after the race. We appreciated the convenience and saved some money on dining out. The location was ideal, nestled in the heart of nature, providing easy access to beautiful trails and serving as the perfect home base for the race. We highly recommend this VRBO to fellow nature enthusiasts, trail runners, and bikers. We look forward to staying here again!
Rich was communicative with an awesome welcome packet. Described how to enter, adjust heat and air, run water etc....everything we needed to know.
We were mot appreciative of the extras. There were paper towels, sandwich baggies, tinfoil and dishwasher soap. These are the little things that can make a stay in someone's home so much better. He also left us a smore's kit-really awesome. Too rainy to use but a wonderful gesture. Thanks for sharing your great space with us. Can we book next year too, please?
