Adorable Cottage overlooking the Toogoodoo River
This amazing cottage is a former Girl Scout house built in the late 1800's in Summerville and moved to the property in 2003. A screened porch was added overlooking the Toogoodoo River !
When you want to press the pause button, or slow down a bit, we welcome you to Toogoodoo Bluff! Take the dirt road and turn into this oasis sitting on the Toogoodoo River. The views are pristine and undisturbed . Enjoy a cup of joe or an evening cocktail and listen to the night sounds of cicadas!
Toogoodoo Bluff sits on a high bluff overlooking the deep Toogoodoo Creek and wide marshes. As for the structures, all three have different backgrounds.
The Farmhouse dates back to the mid to late 1700's, and includes a unique architectural feature of a rain porch with extended roof. The house was disassembled in the mid 1990's and numbered board by board and then reconstructed on the current site. It was not finished until 2006.
The Log Cabin dates back to the early 1800's. It was located in the low mountains of Spartanburg County in SC near the border of NC. It was also disassembled and reconstructed on the current site. The reconstruction included the addition of a kitchen, bathroom and front porch.
The Girl Scout Cabin was built in the late 1880’s and was used for years in Summerville, SC. The cabin was located to the property in 2003 where an amazing screened in porch was placed on the water side of the structure.
Toogoodoo is close to the town of Hollywood, SC. A sleepy town 20 minutes south of Charleston, SC. You will find several restaurants, including award winning Italian restaurant Pane E Vino. The property is also located 20 minutes from Edisto Beach and nature reserve Botany Bay. On the way to Edisto you will find the Kings Market, a 6-generation family farm market with amazing cream cheese and deserts to die for. Also, close to Toogoodoo is Caw Caw County Park, home of the Rainbow swamp.
