Beautifully built treehouse in a calm, tranquil setting. The hosts are awesome, were easy to communicate and so kind and hospitable. We had a relaxing stay and appreciated how it was located away from tourist areas so we could come back from a busy day and just relax, surrounded by nature, peace and quiet.
The treehouses are amazing! We had absolutely everything that you could think of. The owners had thought of every detail. It was so relaxing and so nice to get away and be in the trees. We loved our stay and plan to be back.
An excellent spot for peace and quiet. Reading a few books among the trees was exactly what we needed to unwind. Not too far from Traverse City, Arcadia, Frankfort and other places of interest. Very clean and well appointed. Had everything we needed and then some.
Spent the night here after a slushy day at Crystal Mountain. Was super clean, well stocked, and obviously well thought out construction. Easy communication with the host, and was stocked and ready for us when we arrived. I highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely heavenly!! Impeccably built and meticulously appointed. Immaculate inside and out. The owners have thought of absolutely everything. The location is secluded but not at all creepy (I would have felt comfortable by myself) and convenient to so many great places to find adventure. We had tickets for two shows at Interlochen during our stay, but honestly it was hard to leave the cottage. We left completely rejuvenated. Best place I’ve ever stayed.
Everything was perfect! The treehouse was well stocked with everything we needed and more. Incredibly peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful views all around. Comfy beds, super clean, great shower, which is a must after a day of exploring/hiking :) We enjoyed the fire pit at night and the quiet mornings on the deck surrounded by trees. We hope to return someday!
We had a great best friends and daughters weekend. It was great! The place was awesome and so well stocked with amenities! We will certainly try to get there again! Thank you!!

Stunning cabin in the trees. Exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated. Hosts provided everything we would possibly need to make our stay care free and comfortable. Very private. Beautiful view from the back deck. Would highly recommend!
We stayed 3 nights in August immediately following our wedding. We LOVED this rental. The natural surrounding was just the escape we needed. We spent our days exploring the Lake Michigan beaches and in the evening made dinner and spent time by the fire. We loved that the rental came with all sorts of amenities. We definitely plan to book again.

This was the most amazing place we have ever stayed. It’s perfect. Very clean and well appointed. We went for our anniversary, what a wonderful place to reconnect with each other. We never wanted to leave. Already have plans to return next year. You will feel so close to nature, but not far from Traverse City or Interlochen. Priceless!

About the host
Hosted by Ashlee Knoll
This project is a builder and engineering dream, initiated by a father-son duo, Fred and Jess Knoll. Together with their wives, Patty and Ashlee Knoll, a plan was developed. After countless hours of planning, designing, engineering, and feedback, the Knolls pushed forward to making their dream a reality. By trade, Fred is a dynamically talented builder and finish carpenter with over 40 years of experience. His son, Jess was raised around construction and heavy equipment, and is a large scale equipment operator. They joined their professional abilities and construction backgrounds to make it all happen.
Why they chose this property
Tree House Ridge is the first of its kind in Michigan- with the goal to build 10 unique and self-contained 500 square foot tree houses, each located within a beautiful wooded site, sculpted around majestic hills, and each with its own breathtaking view of natural Northern Michigan beauty. This concept has been successfully implemented in other parts of the United States, but this is the first of its kind in this area.
What makes this property unique
Groups and families, both small and large, will enjoy this peaceful setting. You don't have to be outdoorsy to stay in a treehouse. It's the perfect destination to unwind and unplug. While some enjoy spending their days outdoors golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, sightseeing, skiing, and hiking, others like to go on wine and cider tours, shop, and attend destination weddings and family reunions, and much more. We will open our treehouses as their construction is complete with the goal of completing 10.
