The property was very nice and clean. We where looking for a quite get away where we could bring our family including the dogs and this was prefect. The host had everything stocked and ready for our stay
The house worked out great for 5 siblings. Everyone had a bed. Has a lot of open space which worked out great for us to hang out together and play games. The bar/restaurant next door worked out well to grab dinner and everything was quite there by 10pm so no noise issues. The summer might be more acitivity.

View, A! House, D… this is not your normal HOME
I will say that the views from this home are spectacular, but that is the only thing I can say. Having a family of little kids, I wish someone would have wrote this to me before hand. This is not your normal home, only the 1st level feels like a ‘home.’ 1. Lower Level- this place is not safe for kids that are not teenagers. That are 5 different doors that lead to outside and two of them are off of the bathrooms. Not to mention, my kids were screaming as there are so many BLACK BIG spiders in the bedrooms/bathrooms. Took pictures. The home should have been sprayed to keep them at bay.2. Bathrooms Lower level- these are not the normal bathrooms as you see upstairs these are more like what you see at the beach once you swim and need to rinse off. 3. Furniture- its cloth and wasn’t clean at all. It needed to be vacuumed and cleaned because there were stains.4. Dishes- they were ok but they all needed to be washed(which I would have done anyway before using), but they had to be washed to clean off food/grease. 5. Freezer- there are some ice containers that you can put in your cooler but don’t use them as mold was in one of them. 6. The master bedroom shower heads are not the best, not working properly and the 2nd set of shower heads is broken where the water shoots out of a pipe! 7. Lots of dust and spider webs on the 1st level, that we kept walking through. The towels had ‘white long hair.’ Almost like dog hair. This place was not cleaned /dusted properly.
Great house … I would come back again.
But if it was my house I work to shore up a few things.
I would reach a high level of “clean”
With my clean up crew … higher expectations.
Also … Just needs some minor repairs.
Tv issues/WiFi
Some loose tiles & fixtures
Coffee machines left with Grounds & mold in them .. just not cleaned out.
Dart board not working plus no darts. I’d set up the Ping pong table in the garage and advertise it.
I’d get a gas grill & canopy’s or picnic tables with umbrellas.
Lots of Bugs, Bee’s & Spiders
I suggest spray washing house and windows !
I’d move furniture around as behind and under things are many levels of dirt/dust/ dead bugs.
Food … left in fridge.
All this being said … I’d come back again !

House was big for our group of 5. Nice to have room to spread out. The house definitely needs some work/updating which I'm not picky about. But the overall cleanliness was bad: dusty fans, full smudgy handprint on microwave, dirty fridges. Couldn’t find paper towels.Several bugs inside. A lot of crickets and hornets/wasps. You can see the hornets nests attached to the outside of house. Then there was a window in jacuzzi room that had several nests once opened. We killed at least 4 hornets inside. It's not easy to get down to the water front. Beautiful scenery. We were looking forward to the restaurant next door, but it was permanently closed. Abandoned building. Not sure what the game room is, but there is a ping pong table in the garage. Listing/pictures needs some updates.
The house was perfect! Had everything we needed to cook with, the beds were comfy, plenty of room for all 7 of us, and the views of the river and sunsets were amazing. Chris was the best host!! Responded instantly to all my questions and very accommodating to everything we needed!
Awesome views from all over the house ! Would stay again!

family weekend
The property owners were very nice and helpful. Check-in was easy. The reference in the listing to a picnic on the beach seems mis-leading. You do have a nice view over the river and we had a pretty sunset but no beach. The house looks nicer in the pictures than in person although it is large and accommodated our needs. There are a lot DIY renovations that pretty odd but didn't really interfere with our stay. Just not as luxurious as represented. I should acknowledge I manage some rental properties so I am tuned in to renovation and maintenance issues.

IDEAS's
- Improve supplies (no trash bags, very limited linens)
- No one took trash out all week, so it was overflowing
and animals got into it.
- kitchen area dirty and can opener not working.
Found dirty dishes & Pans in cupboards.
- We spent time cleaning when we first arrived
- Water pressure bad in kitchen and loft shower area.
- IDEA .
Reinvest about $25-$30,000 and really fix that place up
and you will see the payback two fold !!
I hope to be back next year.
We had the best time staying this weekend! The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for all of us. The view from the house was incredible. I highly recommend staying here!
Great river location. Plenty of room for 4 couples. Giant tv in basement was fun for kid’s video games. Restaurant next door had great staff and was very convenient the nights I didn’t feel like cooking.
A weekend getaway for friends.
The house was amazing. Plenty of space for 6 adults. We enjoyed playing games and just spending time together, but especially liked the hot tub!
Great location. Restaurant next door, but still quiet location. Would definitely go back! Ladies, bring a hair dryer if needed.
Wonderful location, great relaxing home, perfect stay
We had a great time staying at this home on the water in East Peoria. We have stayed at this home in the past and loved it that we decided to do it again.
Though the host didn’t need to, last minute, he was able to accommodate a change to the next weekend when the weather was looking to be a burden for my mother to travel to help watch our kids and he did it with no questions asked.
The location on the water was gorgeous with recent snowfall covering the frozen water with beautiful sunsets glistening off the water and snow.
As an extra treat, the tasty restaurant next door hosted ice races with motorcycles on the ice and we were entertained and delighted with a show on the ice from the comforts of the warm home and a great view from the steamy hot tub.
Inside the home has plenty of space for a large family and also has the appeal and amenities for a couple, like ourselves.
We enjoyed using the 4 sprayer spacious shower to rinse off after the hot tub. The kitchen is huge and has everything you could need, but make sure to bring ziploc bags in case you save any leftovers. If you’re missing anything, the Dollar General a quick 2 min drive away has any essentials you forgot.
I would recommend the pizza next door at Charlie’s at Sunset Cove. If they’re running a special with the breakfast pizza, don’t miss out — it is delicious.
All in all, a great stay, and are already trying to coordinate the next trip when Granny can watch the kids and let the adults get away!
The property is as described. The second floor master bedroom and bathroom was luxurious. The loft bedroom has it's own ensuite bathroom which was nice. The ground floor is a little spartan but it worked. We didn't have time to use the hot tub but it seemed nice and big. The house needs a little TLC with some broken toilet paper holders and the downstairs bathroom shower head could use a dip in CLR but overall it was perfect for what we needed. We were in town to attend a conference but it would be a great place to just spend time and relax. The view was pretty fantastic. It's conveniently close to a good restaurant with wonderful gluten free pizza. It was quiet and offered a sense of peaceful seclusion.
The house was great. Loved the view, hot tub, and home was very spacious and tastefully decorated! Neighborhood was nice to walk through. Restaurant next door was delicious. Would love to come back again!
