Loved the unique size and history of the home, its location, the bedding, the views from the deck and the fact it was dog friendly. It was clean, the kitchen was well appointed and host was responsive.

The house was fabulous. Quirky and fun, antique but well maintained and appointed, with a glorious back deck with a spectacular view.

Beautiful, spacious house with a breathtaking view. Lots of history and character,well stocked. Especially loved the presence of the Baldwin piano.I had brought a keyboard to practice but there was no need to unload it.Thank you!

I loved this property! My husband and I went for our 10 year anniversary and stayed in the historical. Dewey Mills home. It was more than we needed, but it was absolutely amazing to stay in this old home. There’s a beautiful lake behind it and it’s surrounded by trees. We were there in the very beginning stages of the colors changing for the fall and it was absolutely beautiful . I will have to say the host, probably the most responsive host I have ever been able to deal with and I use Vrbo a lot! It was awesome! I love good communication. I would recommend this house and this location to anybody who’s just wanting to get away to a tranquil beautiful little town. There’s lots of towns to drive to that aren’t very far away that are very quaint with shopping and restaurants. I am sure we will be back again!

The Dewey House is truly unique with wonderful space and a fantastic view across the pond. Convenient to Dartmouth, Woodstock and other locations, we very much enjoyed the location and the experience. The kitchen was well equipped and the gas grill was perfect for dinner in one night. Thanks for a great visit.

We are a college friends group of 4 couples who graduated in 1975. We enjoyed the closeness to VINS and Queeche Gorge and restaurants. Ample common meeting space for us to sit around and share updates and stories. Puzzled why only 2 vehicles can be parked there when there appears to be a paved space that could accommodate at least 1 if not 2 more cars. Because we shared dorm life, sharing bathrooms and showers was not a huge deal, but know not every bedroom has its own bathroom/shower. The clawfoot tubs with showers require you step over an 18 inch high wall and the tub surface lacks safety treads. An enjoyable stay in a well maintained vintage Vermont home with spectacular views of the fall foilage!

Great weekend stay

We had a lovely New Years Friends Weekend at the Dewey House. The house itself was great, with plenty of privacy for each couple. Location was also great --near Woodstock, Quechee, White River Junction etc. Hosts were very responsive.

The house was beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint is that the rental company kept giving me conflicting information about when I would be sent check-in details. For example, I got a text message that said I had been sent an email with check-in details, but there was no email. I sent a query about this and was told that such details would not be available until two days before check-in. Two days before check-in, I had to send another request for the information. On the upside, they were very quick about responding.

A favorite Christmas stay

Our family (3 generations) spent the holiday in this lovely home, that was very accommodating in that all of the modern amenities met our needs. However, the old feeling of this 1800's home was also present, with many of the historical architecture still in place. There was plenty of room for everyone with many out of the way spaces to spend if one wanted to get away to read or relax.

We came up to visit friends in Quechee for the 4th of July weekend. The property is beautiful - wonderful views of Dewey Pond from the back porch. The only thing that wasn't quite up to par was the gas grill - it was not properly maintained and it was not functional. I'm sure this issue will be resolved for future visitors, but it was a bit of a bummer on a summer holiday weekend.
