This large family home is tucked away in a pleasant, wooded setting a few short minutes from the town of Old Forge. The first floor offers a living room, dining room and seasonal porch with bar and a massive stone fireplace. The modern kitchen also on the first level is fully equipped. There is a comfortable dining area inside plus plenty of outdoor gathering spaces. The second floor has 4 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has 2 full beds, bedroom 2 has a queen bed, bedroom 3 has a bunk bed with two twins. These three bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub shower combination. Bedroom 4 has a king bed with an ensuite bathroom with a stand up shower. Head out for summer fun with biking, hiking, kayaking routes all right from the front door! Within walking distance to the Farmer's Market and playground for the kids. The outside deck, yard and neighborhood is very family friendly for casual walks and relaxation. ADK Hideaway is sure to be your go to vacation spot!

Property is exactly as advertised. Beautiful house. Plenty of yard space. Fire pit far enough where it's not disturbing people in the house. It's listed that there is no linens but there is pillows (no pillow cases) and top blankets.

Pleasant, quiet location. Close to town and park which was nice. Wrap around driveway which was good for trailering boat. Not a fan of bringing our linens. 11 o’clock check out would be more convenient for guests. Overall, it delivered as advertised.

Great house in a great location

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was a great size for the 10 of us (5 adults and 5 children). Even though we had 2 of our 4 days rained out, we were very comfortable staying indoors with plenty of room between the kitchen, dining room and 2 living rooms - as well as the covered front porch! Property managers were very quick to respond to any questions and attentive to our needs. Location is very convenient - just up the road from the center of Old Forge - and has a great park with playground and basketball courts down the street for the kiddos.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location

The property was beautiful. Owner was responsive. Strong smell of dogs when we first got there but it went away. I did find it odd that we had to bring linens and paper supplies but I didn’t mind. I knew my sheets were clean. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary with our closest friends and family. We would definitely stay there again.

Family getaway

Very clean, I am ocd about a clean house and this was clean! Our stay was for 3 nights and all of them were cool nights, but the bedrooms were pretty hot, even with fan and open windows. Only other thing, the twin beds had very uncomfortable mattresses, and I get it normally it would be kids sleeping on them, but it was Nana sleeping on it for our stay. But those are not complaints, just to share when and if you ever do upgrades. All in all, we would stay there again! Very quiet, peaceful setting!

Review

The only thing I did not like we we had to dispose of our garbage. We put everything in garbage bags but having to get rid of it or take it home was not right. We paid quite a bit of money for the week and it really should have been included. Everything else was great. It was nice meeting the girls and the owners. Thank you!

Owners need to step up

Upon our arrival we noted t refrigerator was warm.We put in food and drinks we brought.We also noted a nonworking wine refrigerator. Next morning frig was not cold.contacted the mgr.Mgr came & noted door hot & barely cool.It took full day to get a technician to come. By this point we had already moved items we could to a cooler with ice but realized the full 24 hrs was a risk so threw it all the meats, pre-made dishes, lunchmeats, etc away. Service tech determined the fix a replacement needed.The prop mgr dropped off some ice for us. We had to remove drinks from coolers to keep what was left cold. She also came back with a mini fridge and pulled out the wine cooler and turned it on! The owners had it off so it could not be used! On top of all this we noted that WE are responsible for taking trash to transfer station.We give the low cleanliness rating because the property wreaks of the smell of dog.The host boast of a well stocked kitchen. We had to ask for coffee mugs because there were only 4.The kitchen is set up for those who like to eat out. Limited cooking and only a toaster and coffee maker.No pitcher, mixer, blender, wine glasses has acrylic glasses.no iron and w vacuum that has dog smell.Outside there is limited seating-4 on porch 0 by campfire. New gas grill a +. Wi-Fi is slow-working impossible. Some screens missing-not enough fans.Should Post no AC.No sheets and towels is ridiculous.Not enough pillows, hangars, etc Sadly owners have not contacted us.

We appreciate your feedback that you shared with us during your stay and here on VRBO. We are sorry the refrigerator was not working properly for your stay. We did our best to fix the situation as well as bring ice, and a small refrigerator. We also did send you a refund to cover the food you lost. The refrigerator has been replaced.. We take suggestions from guests seriously and have tried to address each issue you raised. There are more chairs for the fire pit. The house has supplies for 10 people. The dog smell you mention is not something we have heard of before There are fans for all bedrooms and a fan for the living area. This house is a great deal for the amount of people it sleeps and the space it provides. We hope you were able to still enjoy your stay and make some good memories.
