*Note: We have another lake home rental just down the shoreline that can be rented in addition to Shimmering Shores, to accommodate larger groups.

Enjoy amazing sunsets at this beautiful home on crystal clear, sand-bottom
Lake Irogami. Gaze at the lake from the picnic table (with umbrella) on the large sandy beach. No steps to the lake, makes easy access for all ages. A gorgeous 3 season room with large table and smart tv overlooks the yard & lake. Walk out from the lower level to relax in our large hot tub. Gather with family and friends around our outdoor firepit on the beach. You can enjoy our kayaks, paddleboat, rowboat, canoe, and paddleboards. Rent the owner's pontoon boat to go fishing or cruising.


A few of our amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer & dryer, wood fireplace, smart TVs, extra refrigerator, game system, large hot tub and furniture on lower patio, gas grill.


Surroundings: Clearwater Retreat is located along a dead-end street and not near any highways. No neighbors across the street, just a lovely wildlife area.

Our lake home is located on the eastern side of Lake Irogami, which is the sandiest part of the lake's shoreline.

Lake Irogami: Lake Irogami is a 290 acre swimming, fishing and boating lake. You can waterski, jet ski, canoe, fish, swim, kayak, paddleboard, and tube. This is a full recreational lake. The lake doesn't get really deep (5 - 8 feet on average), yet it is deep enough for all the things you want to do, and the fishing is great. Blue gill, largemouth bass, crappie, perch and northern pike are some of the fish you might catch. There are 2 boat launches on opposite sides of the lake. You can bring your own boat and tie it to our pier or rent the owner's pontoon boat.

Surrounding area: Just 13 minutes from Nordic Mountain ski area (enjoy the winter tubing, skiing, boarding, restaurants and bar overlooking the lake).
Two minutes and less to our famous supper clubs: Moose Inn and Silvercryst
Downtown you will find lovely shops: Shasta Daisy, The Nest, Fox & Ivy, Waushara Wildflower, and more. Venture a little farther to enjoy a day at the large flea market in Princeton. Wineries include Lunch Creek winery and vineyard in Neshkoro and the Pine River Winery. Golf at Waushara Country Club or Two Oaks golf course 5 minutes from our home. Traditions: Our family started a tradition over 50 years ago by renting a lake house in Waushara County. Every year we looked forward to that one week where we could get away and enjoy lake life. Now our kids and grandkids look forward to making memories at the lake. We would love to help you start your own traditions at this home away from home.

The property was very good and the beach and access to the water was great for swimming, playing and fishing. The only thing I would change is there was no pantry type storage for groceries. Overall it was a great experience and great property. The property managers were wonderful to work with. We were a group of a variety of ages 2 to 59 and everyone had a great time.

Very clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the hot tub. Great central location for family traveling from MN, northern WI and Chicago. Enjoyed Friday night fish fry at Silvercryst Restaurant- a wonderful old fashioned WI supper club and outdoor activities at nearby Nordic Mountain. We would stay here again.

Immediately impressed by how much the property had to offer. We opted to rent a pontoon boat, but even if we didnt, the property had various paddle boats and canoes to enjoy. Great spot for bonfires. House was well kept and well staged for a vacation rental. 10/10 would book here again

Merry Christmas Get Away

We were looking for a place for our extended family to spread out and relax. What a treat to enjoy a fire in the fireplace and play games at a large table with an awesome view. Our winter wonderland was a bit spoiled by rain but we had plenty of space so we didn’t get stir crazy. Bonus - a Christmas tree and other decorations.

Great house with lake views and lots of places to sleep!

We had a wedding in the family near Wautoma over the weekend. This was the perfect place for some of the family to stay together. Shimmering Shores lived up to its name

We had wonderful family times at Shimmering Shores for my Mom’s 90th birthday. The fireplace was great for our first night there in the rain. The view from the sun porch is beautiful! We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, paddle boat, fishing boat, and canoe. The fishing was excellent! We had one delicious dinner caught by my sister and brother.

Amazing Christmas get away with family

We rented this amazing property to spend Christmas with our family. Everyone loved it. It was the perfect place for us all to be together. The house is warm and cozy with plenty of room for family. It's located on a beautiful lake that would be amazing in the summertime. THe house was very attentive and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again and we are even considering renting it again this summer and possibly again next year for Christmas.

Best mini vacation

We had 15 people of all range of ages from 80 to teens. This place was an amazing and has everything for everyone. Our kids went to boat ride and late night we had camp fire s’mores with homemade marshmallow. Our internet wasn’t working and when we inquired they came promptly and fixed it. Their service were top notch and I can’t complain anything. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

2023 Family Vacation

A little rough start as given wrong key code to get in and hot tub wasn't working, had to wait a couple of days to enjoy that. Loved the lake, very clean and not overly crowded with water traffic. Great location for spectacular sunsets, shallow shoreline for the younger children, great for kayaking, peddle boating, and paddle boarding, fishing off the pier, patio under three season porch with great view from both locations of the lake, and the privacy of this location was greatly appreciated. Enjoyed bonfires on the shoreline. We had a very enjoyable and memorable family vacation.

Girls Weekend

We had a girls weekend and it went great. The water was perfect, nice sandy bottom to the lake, hot tub was great, house had relatively comfortable beds. Neighbors apparently take pictures of the number of cars in the driveway, which I thought was quite odd seeing as the property is advertised to sleep 16 people. Other than that, the stay was great. Property is definitely not walking distance to any local restaurants or taverns, so plan on having a car to get anywhere.

Why they chose this property

Our favorite parts of this lake home rental are the amazing 3 seasons room overlooking the lake; and the amazingly clear, sand bottomed lake. The lake is shallow by the pier so young and young at heart can play in the water and beautiful sand. The sunsets are gorgeous! Very nice area to go for walks or bike rides. Bring your family, friends, and pet for a memorable stay!

Start your own special traditions at our beautiful property.
Cut your Christmas tree at one of our many area tree farms. Learn to ski or board and go tubing at Nordic Mountain ski area. Snowmobile on our miles of trails. Ice Fish on Lake Irogami and other nearby lakes.
Bird Creek Park in Wautoma has a splash pad for kids, baseball diamond, tennis courts.
Some of our county parks have Storybook Trails, very fun for children.
A fun day at the large Princeton flea market will be a memorable one.
Enjoy Autumn at Flyte Family Farms by picking pumpkins and mastering the corn maze. Waushara County has many walking, biking, and hiking trails, including the famous Ice Age Trail.
