This was the absolute perfect rental for our stay in Rangeley! Conveniently located halfway between town and family we were visiting, and so close to the IGA. The cabin itself was so clean, comfortable, and well stocked; and the property (especially the dock!) made it so easy to enjoy the lake. We will definitely stay here again!
The cabin was spotless and comfortable with a great bed, and the location was awesome. We could sit on the porch and listen to the sound of the water, and hear the loons call.
Perfect location for hiking, kayaking and exploring this beautiful area of Maine. Cottage is cute and comfortable and has a great view. Recommend checking out Quill Hill for the views and Cascade Falls for a short hike. The Rangeley Hotel is beautuful inside also.
The cabin is a classic Maine camp with updated, modern amenities. We were very comfortable even over a rainy weekend as the place is cozy and the sauna was an added bonus! We would stay here again when in the Rangeley area.
Our stay at Sunset Cabin was an escape to paradise! The cabin provided everything we needed for our stay. The cabin was very clean and perfect for a romantic getaway. From the gorgeous views of the lake, night time fire pits, and many things to do in Rangeley we did not want to leave! Would definitely recommend and stay again.
We loved the cottage, with the views being our favorite part. The cabin had everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and the bed was supremely comfortable. I also really appreciate Joy working with me on dates. Thank you!
Our short stay at Joy's cabin was very relaxing. The property was just as described and had everything that we needed for our stay. We would stay again.
This was the perfect little spot for our winter getaway. We wanted to stay near town, but have some privacy. This property was perfect! We were ten minutes away from the XC skiing area we came to visit, and an even shorter drive into town. The view was better than expected and the sauna was perfect after some long cold days outdoors.
We had an incredibly wonderful stay….so beautiful and peaceful…cozy sweet cabin, great view from the porch.. highly recommend it …we drove from Ohio-made a trip through Québec, and down to Maine …fabulous memorable time ….
We throughly enjoyed our stay. A quiet place to relax and escape. The cabin was extremely well equipped, better than many other places we have rented. We hardly recommend it.
We picked this place for our 1 year anniversary and it was the perfect pick! We love everything about the cabin, it’s very cozy, very clean, great location real close to everything. It sits right on the banks of the lake, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Book it.
We had a wonderful time at this well-equipped rental. The setting by the lake was perfect, and the cabin was convenient to hiking and kayaking spots. It was nice having a grocery nearby too. Joy was extremely helpful with pre-visit information, and with answering our questions during the visit. We hope to return!
nearby too.
A little disapointed with the overall condition of the cabin. I suppose that the area and view helped overlook that.

Your host
Hey there, we’re Joy and Chris! With three grown kids and two adorable fur babies, our lives are filled with laughter and love. Family, adventures, and exploring are our passions. We live in the beautiful state of Maine and have a special place in our hearts for Rangeley. Our goal is to show each and every guest hospitality, creating unforgettable experiences, and making sure they feel welcomed and valued. We have created Sunset Cabin to be a place of rest, adventure, and reconnection for couples and solo travelers. We understand the need for quality time and the chance to disconnect from our everyday life in order to reconnect with ourselves and each other.
Why they chose this property
Sunset Cabin is situated on a 3.5 acre piece of lakefront property that is shared with 6 cabins and overseen by an HOA that manages amenities, plowing, WiFi, and landscaping . Although located just off the main road (a very important detail in the winter), when on the property you feel far removed from the chaos of the world. The other cabins on this very peaceful property are owned by fantastic people who we call friends.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with Sunset Cabin from the first moment we saw it! What's not to love? It has an amazing lakefront location with a dock and swimming beach to play in the lake all summer, then direct snowmobile access to the lake and just minutes to Saddleback ski area in the winter. A cup of coffee on the front deck, listening to the loons, is our favorite morning location. The fire pit is a favorite evening location for our family and our guests alike.
