Heron Now is a comfortable bayfront home located on beautiful Apalachicola Bay, St. George Island, Florida.

The large deck offers sea breezes and a private, panoramic overlook of the bay and estuarine reserve. You have the same view from inside the house and even from the kitchen.

Heron Now has the best of both vacation worlds: the gulf coast beaches and the beautiful bayside marsh. The spacious gulf coast beach is only 1.5 blocks away via easy public access. There you can swim in the waves, fish the surf, or lounge among the sand castles. Heron Now adjoins the bayside world of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Reserve which provides one mile of undeveloped bayshore waterfront to explore by foot or boat. Bring your canoes and kayaks (or rent locally) because there is bay access. Bring your fishing gear because the bay is full of sea trout, redfish, and mullet . Bring your camera and binoculars because every hike or paddle will bring a new discovery.

The nearby town of Apalachicola is a Victorian fishing port which offers
upscale restaurants and walking tours of its Victorian houses. The town and
the surrounding area are featured in two National Geographic books: Guide
to Small Town Escapes and America's Hidden Corners.

The bay view was beautiful here. The house was great, as advertised. It was clean and looked like they had just put in new carpet and had recently painted. The walk to the beach was very quick and convenient. The host was very clear in his communication. We loved it and would stay again.

Heron Now is perfectly located (for us) off the main drag, with a great view of the bay and a close walk. For those interested in fishing, check out the bay. we caught crooker, catfish and redfish and crabs.The owners communication with us left nothing to the imagination, we were well informed of what to expect upon arrival as well as who to contact in the event a problem arose (which none did). The best recommendation we can give is that we would definitely return to Heron Now.

Great trip!

Very relaxing stay! The home is an older home, but well maintained and clean. We saw bald eagles, osprey, an American kestrel, loons, and countless other birds from the back porch! It was amazing! There’s also tons of little tree frog friends that visit every evening! Very quiet area and it was fun to see a different side of the island as we usually stay ocean side. Wonderful trip!

Great memories made!

We loved our stay at Heron Now! Our twin boys had so much fun watching for birds and wildlife on the back porch and exploring the bay. It was perfect for our family of four and very well stocked. A king bed and some minor superficial updates would be nice, but for the price, location & memories it was all worth it! We look forward to staying again!

Perfect location!

Heron Now was a dream location for our weeklong vacation. There is a public beach access directly across from the house, 1.5 blocks, and it was super easy to navigate anywhere you needed to be on the island. The house is well appointed and had everything we needed during our stay. Our group enjoyed the bay views from the comfort of the living room, and we were amazed at the amount of natural light we got each day. Bonus, we watched the meteor shower from the spacious deck! We definitely want to stay here again.

Summer 2024 Vacation

Great location! 5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk to the bay where there is a small beach. We had some pretty strong winds 3 out of 7 days and the bay was perfect to set up for the day. It was perfect for our grandkids to play on. The house is older, but in very good condition. The large deck was great for birdwatching, sunsets and a play area for the grandkids.
