About this property

The Van Gogh Apartment - a cozy, creative retreat

Welcome to the Van Gogh Apartment! My idea was to spark creativity. Pretend you've entered the canvas of the great artist. The walls are white, like gesso, and each surface was created with one of Van Gogh's famous paintings in mind.
My thoughts: If the wood or stone were to be infused with the spirit of Starry Night or Sunflowers, how would that manifest itself?
The apartment is new, custom, and as hypoallergenic as I could make it. For this reason, pets cannot be accommodated.

The space
My place is close to the airport, the city center, the mall and parks. The bus stop is just down the hill, in about a 5 minute walk. You’ll love my place because of the location. My place is good for adventurers. We are in a little oasis, just 8 miles from downtown. Please read about me before you book. The main house is decorated medieval themed. I am an artist, actress as well as a fitness Coach. We are eco-conscious.

I have a private gym in the back yard, with time slots for guests to choose from, so that they can workout without a mask. This is free to all guests.

The apartment cannot host pets, because it must remain hypoallergenic. The dog run outside may be used in the summer, for friend's visits, with pre-approval.

Guest access
You may park in either driveway or in front of the rock wall, facing my house. This neighborhood is multi-cultural. WARNING: Occasionally our neighbors throw parties and can be noisy.

There are several bus stops, within 5 minute walk from my house. Since I live on a hill, they can be heart pumping walks.

If I know ahead of time, I've worked out a deal with an Uber driver to take my guests on tours, at a special rate.

You can use the hot tub for an extra fee of $15 a day or $75 per week., if you are staying that long. If you are staying longer, we can set up another monthly deal..

I'm SUPER EXCITED TO HOST YOU!!! See you SOON!!

Nice place, lots of amenities, kind owner
You can tell the owner, Karla, has put a lot of care into this rental! Very nice ambience and a hot tub just outside the door. I forgot to bring a swimsuit, so didn't get to use it, but very cool. There is also a huge gym on site, and big yard to walk around/have a fire pit. Karla was a great host and made sure I had everything I needed. It's a little far from the bus stop, but I had a friend in town who drove her car. Easy spot for an Uber though. 15 minutes from just about everything. Great restaurants and got to see the city with my friend. I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely stay
The Van Gogh apartment was a wonderful place to stay. The unit is beautiful, the jacuzzi was perfect, and Karla was warm and accommodating. Located close to the airport and a short trip to Seattle center or the pier. We had a great time!

I'm a TOTAL geek that loves my daughter, friends and my pets. There are fruit trees and gardens to feed us in my yard. Anyone is welcome to the harvest, as I love sharing healthy foods! I do not spray pesticides, nor do I use a lot of chemicals in my house. If my guests would like to share a movie on my projection screen, I would love to pop popcorn and get to know you!

Please be aware that I try to keep my carbon footprint LOW. I turn off lights, computers, TVs, electrical appliances, when not in use, try not to use plastic bottles, or have too much trash and recycling. I ask that people who stay here do the same.

My house has medieval decor, with swords and gargoyles, faeries and dragons all around.

I decorate for most holidays, especially Halloween! I love adventure and adventure sports, workout almost every day, and enjoy good, clean, whole food.

Hobbies? I am a dancer, actress, do live steel combat and an avid equestrian.

Why they chose this property

I've spent a great deal of time to create a tranquil little get away, so close to the city. I'm actually only 8 miles from Seattle proper, and 5.3 miles from SeaTac airport. However, my property feels like an oasis away from both. I truly love my neighborhood, as it is very multicultural and we often get the chance to participate in activities popular in many parts of the world. I've also created multiple pieces of artwork for anyone to enjoy, and an outdoor little free library for travelers.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefit is the ability to use an entire 1/2 acre lawn, huge private gym and firepit while you stay here. I am an artist, and an adventure facilitator, so you may get the chance to join us on one of our events. I've hosted with another site for several years, and I love seeing how excited my guests and students are!
