Sleeping arrangements

The recreation deck at Waikiki Banyan is currently undergoing a complete transformation and is scheduled to officially reopen on May 18, 2026.
Once completed, this will be the largest recreation deck in Waikiki, entirely rebuilt with all-new amenities, landscaping, and furniture. The redesigned space will include:

• Three brand-new hot tubs
• A brand-new sauna
• All new loungers and daybeds
• Modern barbecue and grill stations with seating
• A children’s playground
• A full tennis and play court
Everything on the deck will be new, beautifully designed, and ideal for families, couples, and longer stays.

Nice stay in Waikiki, Communication with the host was outstanding. Enough supplies for everything we needed. Big downside was the pool/hot tub and recreation deck were all down for maintenance at the time and we weren’t aware of this.

Just to clarify, we received the building management’s notice on March 24 and sent an email to you and all affected guests on March 25, with a follow-up reminder on March 28. If you haven’t seen those, you might want to check your spam folder just in case.

This is very nicely updated unit with wonderful views from the top floor of the building. We loved sitting on the balcony each night watching the lights of the city come on. The condo is perfect for two people. There is a sofa bed but the only bathroom is part of the primary bedroom suite so it’s less than ideal for more than two. The kitchen has basic cooking equipment but no dishwasher. There is a more than generous supply of products for both the bathroom and kitchen - a real plus when guests are arriving by plane and can’t bring those items along. This is our second stay in the Waikiki Banyon towers. The building is well located on the east end of Waikiki. It’s easy to walk to beaches, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The building itself is rather dated but a renovation of the large pool and patio area should be completed by mid-2026. I would definitely recommend this unit and we would stay here again. Unfortunately our two week stay was cut short by an extended electrical outage for the entire building. We were pleased with the way the management company handled the issue and with the way they handled all of the aspects of our stay.

My husband and young daughter stayed here for our week in Waikiki. It was the perfect size for just the three of us. Very clean apartment! It had everything we needed for cooking, cleaning and general stay. The beach chairs were clutch for us too. Don’t even get me started about the view. Stunning!! It was a 5-6 minute walk to the beach. It was honestly perfection. When we come back to Honolulu, we will definitely want to stay here again!

The room was great! However our check in experience was terrible. The front desk staff was very rude and unprofessional. We arrived at the property in the late evening due to the tsunami warning. The front desk staff told us the elevators were turned off due to the tsunami warning so that meant my family and I would have to access our room via the stairway. When I informed them that was unacceptable (because that meant hiking 38 floors with 4 suitcases), the front desk staff very rudely told me 'that's the way it goes'. Eventually the building mgr. allowed us to use the elevator to access our room. We were grateful that he had enough common sense to help us.

While safety protocols are essential to protect everyone during emergencies, the way this was communicated to you clearly fell short of the courtesy and professionalism you deserve. We’re relieved the building manager was able to assist, but we regret that your first impression wasn’t as warm and welcoming as it should have been. Please note that the front desk and manager are part of the building administration, which operates separately from us, as we only manage the unit itself. We wish we had been made aware of this during your stay so we could have helped right away.
Your feedback has been shared with building management so they can address this with their team and improve how such situations are handled in the future. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during such an unusual event, and we’re glad to hear the rest of your stay was smooth and enjoyable.
We loved this place! The unit was clean, just the right size for us, & close to everything in Waikiki. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of the mountains & the nights were just as beautiful with the city lights & stars above. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes & supplies needed for our stay. The only set back was the elevators, which has nothing to do with this awesome unit. Elevators were always packed because it seemed like only 2 were running. But hey we made due & still enjoyed our stay. Will definitely want to use this place again.

We loved staying in this unit. There was plenty of space for me, my husband and 11 year old daughter. The condo seems newly renovated and had a very nice big kitchen with an island that made cooking easy. It also had really tall ceilings which added to the spacious feeling. The mountain view from the lanai was beautiful. And even had a peekaboo ocean view off to the right. We appreciated that they had nicer lanai lounge chairs to make enjoying the view with a glass of wine more comfortable. The bedroom is a good size with sliding doors that close it off from the main living area for privacy. There is also a desk and chair with a nice window view of the mountains. This was one of the reasons I chose this condo since I had to do some work the first week I was there. Our daughter slept on the pullout couch which was fairly comfortable as far as pullout couches go (tip: make sure you pull the section up at the top where your head goes, otherwise you head will be angled down. We did not realize this until the last day). The only con was the elevators. We knew in advance that they were doing work on them so that there would be longer wait times, but it often took a while to get down and the elevators would be packed with people. But everything else was great and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay in this unit again.
