Family members ages 1-65 had a great time. The breathtaking view was unbelievable. We enjoyed the outside decks! Need to restock the silverware in the kitchen. A second fullsize fridge would also be helpful. Hoping to return next year!

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that your whole family had such a wonderful time and enjoyed the breathtaking views and outdoor decks.
We also truly appreciate your suggestions. We’ll take them seriously as we continue to improve the home for our guests. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you and your family back next time.
The views from the house are absolutely beautiful! Great location in regards to downtown Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. The kitchen, and living room areas are a little smaller than what they appeared in the pictures. The bedrooms were all good sizes. The kids loved the arcade room! The back balcony was a great place to sit outside with the family and hangout and enjoy the views. The hosts were great, and responded quickly if we had any questions. We would definitely come back!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay!
We had a great time at this cabin! Everything was clean and there was plenty of space for our large group! We brought a lot of supplies for the kitchen which were not necessary as it had all the pots/pans/equipment we could have needed. Multiple porches to relax and enjoy the view. We saw plenty of bears! Location is very convenient for all activities around Gatlinburg! Host responded right away to any questions I had :) Would definitely stay here in the future!

Thank you so much for being our guest!! We can't wait to see you again :)
Excellent house that’s clean, well-stocked, and great for groups. Incredible view from any of the patios (and the hot tub!). Great value, easy rules to follow, and quick to clean up. The host is clear with communication and is very professional. I would highly recommend this stay!

Thank you so much for this great review! It was a pleasure to host you and we hope to see you again!
Great view and overall a nice home. Being so far from restaurants we chose to cook several meals each day; however the home did not have usable pots or pans and therefore had to rely on the grill for all cooking needs.

Thank you for the feedback! We have purchased new pots and pans for the cabin :)
NOT AT ALL WHAT IT SHOWS ON THE PICTURE. Kitchen was very small. Carpets were completely trashed and filthy. Trash all over the property. We feel like we were catfished. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Thank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations.
We take cleanliness and accuracy seriously. Our home is professionally cleaned before every check-in, and an independent inspector completes a walkthrough to ensure everything is in order. That's why we were surprised to read your comments about trash and carpet condition - neither was flagged during our pre-arrival inspection, nor by guests who stayed immediately before or after your visit.
Regarding the kitchen, we do our best to represent the space accurately through our listing photos and description, and we encourage guests to review the full gallery before booking. We understand that layouts can sometimes feel different in person, but we're confident the space reflects what's shown.
We wish we had heard from you during your stay. We're always available to address concerns in real time and would have been happy to send someone out right away. No issues were raised during your reservation, which made it impossible for us to help.
We appreciate you staying with us and hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.
Perfect home for our 10 member family vacation. Video arcade games were a blast for kids and adults. Great decks with excellent views. Plenty of living areas. Highly recommend this home!!
We loved this cabin. It had the best game room of any cabin we have ever rented, and our son loved it very much. The host was very responsive and helpful. The road in is pretty steep and windy and some of our party didn’t love that, but the view was great and we would stay again.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're so glad you loved the cabin and that your son enjoyed the game room—it’s definitely a guest favorite!
There is a 2-way winding road 2 miles up the mountain, which is common in the Smoky Mountains. While few guests have mentioned concerns about it, we understand that mountain roads can feel different for everyone. We’re happy to hear that the view made it worthwhile and that you would stay again. We’d love to host you in the future—safe travels until then!
This cabin is beautiful and the view is even better.

About the host
Hosted by Rhoda J.
Vacation rentals are our family business - and our passion. We host spacious luxury cabins in the Smoky Mountains (Wears Valley and Gatlinburg), all designed with one goal: giving big families and groups a place to truly be together.
We've hosted hundreds of family reunions, holiday gatherings, and even weddings, and nothing makes us happier than hearing a grandparent say the whole family finally got under one roof. We treat every stay the way we'd want to be treated as travelers ourselves - quick responses, spotless spaces, and thoughtful touches that make memories last.
Come stay with us. We'll take care of the rest!
Why they chose this property
We chose this spot for one reason above all: the views. Perched in Chalet Village on Ski Mountain, the cabin enjoys a stunning 270° panorama of the Smokies, with Mt. LeConte front and center. Every morning the sunrise paints the mountains differently — it's what inspired the name "Morning Star."
The location is the best of both worlds: a peaceful mountain perch that's just 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg's restaurants and attractions, 12 minutes from the main entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and 18 minutes from Dollywood. In winter, Ober Mountain's slopes are practically next door.
Chalet Village itself is a wonderful community — guests enjoy free access to the North Clubhouse with its three seasonal pools, tennis courts, and walking trails. It's quiet, scenic, and close to everything that makes Gatlinburg special.
What makes this property unique
Very few cabins in the Smokies can match Morning Star's signature feature: a 270° panoramic view of the mountains with Mt. LeConte front and center — visible from two levels of deck, the living room, and even the private deck off the king bedroom. Watch the Ober Gatlinburg tram glide up the mountain from your morning coffee spot.
The cabin is built for big groups done right: sleeps 25 across 6 bedrooms, with ensuite baths for most bedrooms plus two half baths for the common areas — no morning lines, even with a full house. The custom-built bunk room is a kid's dream: 6 beds, each with its own reading light and storage, plus a slumber-party atmosphere they'll talk about for years.
Entertainment runs deep: a private home theater with mountain views (yes, the theater has a view), a large arcade room with putt-putt golf and foosball, and an indoor playhouse for the littlest guests.
And unlike standalone cabins, Morning Star comes with resort-style extras: free guest access to the Chalet Village North Clubhouse with three seasonal pools, year-round lighted tennis courts, and walking trails.
