Johnny and Nicole's rental is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Check in was a breeze, the house was immaculate and the owners are very accommodating. It was great to wake up and enjoy my coffee while watching the sheep in the field on the side of the house. I will definately be visiting again!!

I brought my family here along with our Dog. It was a much needed unplug weekend for us. We spent the day's driving up and down the mountains viewing all the farms and gorgeous landscape. Go to T&K market to stock up on supplies. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare and serve meals. George Washington National Forest is right up the street. If you are looking for time away from the city this is a nice choice.

Came for the stars.

We wanted to see the Quadrantids meteor shower and needed a darker location than home. We look for a house well away from any cities but also that has no trees near it to block the telescope. This house was perfect! The house was clean, well appointed, and easy to find. Franklin is less than 15 minutes away and has anything you might need. We went up to Reddish Knob on the suggestion of our waitress and it was amazing. You can see the entire Shenandoah valley from up there. Just don't let your GPS try and route you through the NSA listening post, go past it and take Reddish Knob Road.

We (Johnny and Nicole) have been married for over 30 years, and our three children are now married and living away. 2022 added our first grandchild to the family. Meadow View was our house prior to the passing of Johnny's parents; we were blessed to be able to move into the farm house where Johnny was raised. Now with our family growing, it is nice to have the additional space during special family gatherings. Opening the house all the other times allows us the share the great location and beautiful views with guests to Pendleton County.

Why they chose this property

This home is ideal for avid golfers as it is located less than 2 miles from the Highlands Golf Course at Fisher Mountain. In addition to golf, several sites and attractions such as the renowned Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Germany Valley are in a close vicinity. This location allows for guests to unwind yet also be able to enjoy near-by local restaurants and county stores. Franklin, West Virginia has the Treasure Mountain Festival each September, and the Highland County Maple Festival in March in Monterey, Virginia is only 10 miles away. The fall is especially beautiful in this area when the leaves start to change color. Anglers can enjoy fishing in the nearby South Branch of the Potomac River.
