Lower level rental, comfy home away from home. Relax after a fun day exploring with a cozy fire or sauna. Nature lovers’ paradise; biking, fishing, hiking, kayaking, skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, waterfalls galore. If you’re lucky, you might see the northern lights!
We are dog friendly with a $25/fee/night.
We are located 3 blocks from Snow River Resort (formerly Indianhead Mountain) home of the newly-installed 6 person high-speed chair lift, 4.9 miles from Black River Basin (formerly Blackjack), 9.6 miles from Powderhorn, 32 miles from Porcupine Mountains, and 21 miles from Black River Harbor.

Access to snowmobile trail 2 is at Sunday Lake. Enjoy some of the prettiest trails in the UP!

The Roost

The place was clean and quiet. We were looking to get out of the city for the weekend, and couldn't have found a better place. Only an hour from the Porcupine Mountains and Lake Superior.

Birthday ski weekend

The pace was great! Relaxing and so close to the ski resort and to be honest better than the ski resort conditions as we stayed there two weeks to this stay! It was easy to relax after a long day of skiing and hop in the sauna for some added relaxation and recovery. Being able to make our own food was helpful as the grocery stores are not far at all so you can stick in while there! It was secluded but not too secluded :) would def stay again!

Cozy spot

We enjoyed our stay. We were a little bit surprised, because the listing didn’t specify that the rental was only the downstairs unit of the chalet. Having said that, the unit was cute and cozy, and it was nice and cool on the warm summer days.

Cozy weekend

The property was cozy and clean, nestled in the trees and only a short walk to the ski resort. The sauna was a nice bonus and easy to use. We had a little trouble connecting to the smart tv, but the handful of DVDs fit our entertainment needs and were a fun throwback. Laurie was a responsive and kind host.

Fun for people and pups!

Laurie was super helpful and her dog Macy made friends and the pups enjoyed playing. Laurie was very helpful and vrbo comfy and spotlessly clean! The sauna was a great surprise. Also Snowriver (aka Indianhead) hills are improved with more moguls and ungroomed options. Now they need tree glades!
