Beautiful and cozy! Our second stay at this home- 3 generations together for our annual Christmas shopping weekend. The house is perfect. Plenty of space for all of us, and super close to all the shopping. Hosts were very responsive. Very clean and has everything we need. We can't wait for next year!

We loved everything about this place. Beautiful, large home, plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 children. Large dining room for meals and family game time. So close to Freeport and all the shopping. Very clean, and the home has everything we needed. We can’t wait to go again!

Having one bedroom on the first floor (four on the second floor) made it convenient for family member who had difficulty climbing stairs. Ample outdoor activities available, including grill, lounge porch and fire pit.

Great house in great Freeport location!

We had three generations of our family stay at this great house close to other extended family and very convenient to all pretty Freeport has to offer. The furnishings and linens were very nice and the bedroom arrangements worked out well for the six adults and three young grandchildren. The neighborhood is very quiet and there was plenty of space for our grandkids to play outside as well. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Friends Getaway

We stayed here with a couple friends and our dogs. Check-in/accessing the house with the door code was a breeze. The location was great and close to good hikes, dog friendly breweries, great shopping and Portland! The house was very clean and had everything we needed! We would definitely utilize this property again.

Venscation 2023 - Maine

Family vacation (again for 3 generations) was a trip to Maine. We rented this beautiful home just outside of Freeport. The 5 bedrooms worked out perfectly for us and we enjoyed the quiet surroundings after a day of adventures, exploring Maine for a week. Family vacation with a large group

We (7 adults, 4 children <11) stayed at this property in mid-July. The house easily accommodated our large group. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. We were there primarily to visit family in Yarmouth, but the location is great if you're looking for the Freeport experience. Portland is an easy 15-20 minute drive. A note if you have younger children: the bunk bed room is located on the ground floor, the other 4 bedrooms are upstairs. Our 2 and 5 year old were a little freaked out about sleeping in the bunk room without having parents close by, but we were able to easily alter sleeping arrangements. The property is well maintained inside and out; all appliances, WiFi, A/C, etc. functioned well. Check-in/check-out was simple. The property owners live in Freeport and quickly responded to a couple of our requests. We highly recommend this property!

Hi, we’re Jeff & Jess, along with our son JJ. We live here in beautiful Freeport, Maine and are the owners and operators of ProActive Properties. Since 2014, we have welcomed guests to some of our favorite destinations throughout Maine and beyond, helping families and travelers create memorable experiences together.

Travel and hospitality have always been a major part of our lives. Jeff is also the owner of ActivSport Travel, an international educational and sports travel company that has organized experiences around the world for schools, teams, and groups. Jess has an extensive background in education as a high school math teacher and has also led international educational travel programs. Our shared passions for travel, skiing, soccer, the outdoors, and exploring new places inspired us to create spaces where others can relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.

This home is especially meaningful to us. We first discovered this property in the summer of 2014 while walking our beloved dogs, Gustav and Nelson, near Wolfe’s Neck State Park. From the moment we found it, we envisioned creating a peaceful coastal retreat where guests could truly experience the natural beauty, privacy, and charm of Maine.

We live in Freeport ourselves, and chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect balance of peaceful rural Maine living while still being incredibly close to everything that makes Freeport and the southern Maine coast such a special destination. We love the area’s combination of outdoor recreation, local restaurants and breweries, shopping, coastal scenery, and easy access to Portland and Midcoast Maine.

When this house became available, we immediately saw the opportunity to create a warm and welcoming place where families and friends could gather, relax, and make lifelong memories together while experiencing the best of coastal Maine.
