Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck, so guests can read email, surf the Internet and soak up the Florida sun all at the same time!

Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Very laid back, right on the water. Pool was very nice. We enjoyed grilling poolside and playing shuffleboard!

We loved this unit! It was even nicer than it looked on your Vrbo site. It was clean, seemed new and was in a perfect location at silver sands resort. Right in front of pool on first floor and about 15 steps from the sandy beach! Really liked the huge lanai and the beach chairs that were light and you could put them right by the water! Then the beach ohhh heaven. So clean and mostly deserted - which could have been due to our early Feb. arrival. Office people were so nice and helpful. We will come again for sure - hopefully longer!

Everything we wanted. A great location. Very friendly.very well kept and very clean. Our room had a very nice floor plan with all the convinces of home. The one negative was our mattress.we had a king bed with deep dips on each side of bed. You rolled into a spot and stayed there. Poor sleeping.

Perfect beach location

We had a great time staying at Silver Sands! This is a great spot for a relaxing beach weekend. The room was right off the pool and the easy beach access is perfect. I loved all the amenities provided including lounge chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, put-put golf, and shuffle board. The front desk staff was also very nice and accommodating. The only downfall is the pool was closed for 24 hours on the day we had planned to spend all day going back and forth from the beach to the pool. We ended up just staying on the beach but the pool would have been nice :)

Great location, clean rooms, wonderfully family friendly property! Returning customers!

We had our second great stay here! New room for us but it was equally as great! This time we were on the ground floor and it made access to the pool and beach even easier. Loved the mini golf and shuffleboard for entertaining our young Children. Heated pool was great, but best of all is the beach access!

Steps to beach. Pool outside the screened lanai. Management works hard to please.

Long Boat key is beautiful and quiet compared to other beach communities near Sarasota. The condo is a great home base for exploring the area. There are some fabulous restaurants close by, both fine dining on Longboat Key and casual on Anna Maria Island. The museums and theaters in Sarasota are a short drive away. The apartment's decor is fresh and updated and in good taste. The space is cozy and fine for two. There's sleeping space for two more and I suppose if you're out all day enjoying the great weather it wouldn't feel too cramped. With a couple of caveats all necessities are provided. The apartment could have used a cutting board in the kitchen and fold up drying rack for wet bathing suits and towels. The pots and pans were adequate but are beginning to show wear as are the range and refrigerator but every appliance was in excellent working order. The AC stopped functioning for several hours but was fixed later the same day and a couple of other maintenance issues were addressed promptly. We loved the proximity to beach and pool. The added bonus of complimentary tennis club/gym with outdoor Jr Olympic pool was a lovely surprise. Thanks so much. We had a wonderful time at Silver Sands.

Great place to get away to!

We were so happy with our unit, it was clean, well stocked with dishes and cookware, and nicely furnished. The bed was sooo comfortable and the sheets really soft. We were right on the heated pool and a short walk to the beach, the sunsets were gorgeous. I would love to go back and stay in the same unit again, and plan to next winter!
