Downtown Atlanta Visit
Unfortunately this was my worst VRBO stay. Communications with the host were clunky as I received no notifications of messages on the VRBO site. Just a few days before my trip, I found messages in my inbox first saying that my reservation was cancelled and then a couple of days later that everything was okay with the reservation. I didn't receive any notice that either of these messages were in my inbox. The check-in process consisted of getting the key from a key lock box attached to a fence in a parking garage. The security of the building was poor. Security access arms to the resident parking area had been cut off. When I arrived there was a man urinating in the parking garage next to the spot where I was assigned to park. Magnetic locks on most, if not all, of the exterior doors were compromised. The apartment was clean, but there was no remote for the television in the living room. Bed linens were limited to pillowcases, a fitted sheet (no top sheet) and a blanket. In the bathroom, there were two bath towels and one hand towel for a two-person, two-day stay.
The location was convenient to downtown, but I definitely did not feel safe walking outside after dark.
