About this property

Bluebear Cottage

Blue bear Cottage is a Heavenly 80 acre wooded space for reconnecting with God and nature. Enjoy private hiking and trails, a cultivated blueberry patch, and the beginnings of a meadow and all of the fauna that comes with it. 2 miles from the Great Sacandaga Lake, and about 30 min from Saratoga Springs or Lake George. Lake Luzerne 10 minutes away has plenty of outdoor activities from which you can escape back to the cottage for maximum serenity.

The space
The home is on just under 80 acres of woods (~2 acres is cleared around the house) with (currently) uncurated logging trails to the summit of a small mountain. It is just down the road (2 miles) from The Great Sacandaga Lake.

The home itself is a modestly renovated 100 yr old home, so it has a lot of the 'character' one might expect from such a house (e.g., tilted floors, smaller rooms, etc.). The downstairs bathroom needs updating aesthetically but, is fully functioning, as is the upstairs bathroom (i.e., yes, you can easily shower with hot water and poop in solitude!).

This property is more about the outside than it is the inside - there is a front porch and a back deck with ample seating, to encourage maximum time outside.

Private Peaceful Gorgeous
We arrived to the property by way of country roads, quaint towns, and breath taking views of the lake. Once there we enjoyed all the property had to offer. The owners instructions were simple, the property was clean and they provided everything, including washing machines and soap. We had a blast and the hostess was amazing work with.

Perfect Escape
We really enjoyed our 3 day stay here. The owners parents live nearby and they were readily available to help or answer questions. Extremely kind people who really wanted us to have the best of times. The house is very cute. The family room was our favorite spot with super comfortable couch and extra large bean bag chair. The property had a blueberry patch and an outdoor fire pit, but we couldn't use it due to weather. You can tell the owner is working on improvements around the property, but it suited our family perfectly. Loved swimming in the lake 15 minutes down the road, which was recommended to us. We would love to stay again sometime.
