Periwinkle is a very clean and functional cottage. The host provided great informational materials about the property and area activities, attractions and history. My eldest granddaughter, age 15, really appreciated the Wi-Fi. The whole family enjoyed crabbing, fishing, rowing, kayaking and paddle boarding in the Little Wicomico River and Raymond’s Cove! Beautiful property

We had an amazing time! Beautiful property, the dock was amazing! Plenty to do in the water- paddle boards, kayaks, row boat and canoe. Communication was amazing and the house was absolutely the cleanest place we have ever stayed.

This house was comfortable inside, but for us where it really shined was outdoors. In a sheltered location under the native Loblolly Pines overlooking a cove and river, and just around the corner from the mouth of the wide Potomac River, one can enjoy the deck and other sitting areas throughout the property. The dock has seating and an umbrella and the Little Wicomoco River was lovely there for swimming after our daily hikes. It provided an easy place to put in the many choices of boats (row, kayak, canoe). In September we saw bluebirds, an eagle, the resident heron, nuthatch, a bobwhite, a hummingbird, woodpecker, etc ( the host provided birdseed). The host has provided plenty of information about the property and the area. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had more than sufficient equipment, and the living room had a variety of good seating. Since it is clear that the owners also use this property, it has many thoughtful touches that a purely rental property might not provide. We loved staying at Periwinkle on the River!

Beautiful views from everywhere! Very pet friendly! Owner has spent a lot of time putting together information in an organized binder with pictures on explaining everything you might need to know about how to navigate your way around the water! Very helpful. Only 2 complaints was the bed in the master bedroom needs a new mattress and the grounds could have been mowed before we got there. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a new queen bed in a truck on the way to our place during your visit. Missed you by 3 days. Now new beds in every room. Didn't find out the mower hadn't shown up until after your visit, I would have solved asap if I had known, sorry for the inconvienence. I am glad everything else was great.

Amazing stay and great host. We traveled with a 1, 4, and 5 year old and the family dog. The property was perfect as easily accommodated all of us. The boats and life jackets were all in great shape and saved us so much over renting them independently. The kids enjoyed the sand beach, just be sure to account for tides (and hurricanes)

Beautiful property

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is worth a visit! Peaceful, tranquil location. Watched the loons, herrings and the egrets, of the doc, sat in the sun and just felt grateful. Thanks for sharing!

Great find

The adults really like the home, teens not so much but the wifi helped. Loved the wild life, dock was perfect. Used all the boats on the property, paddle boards, kayas, paddle boat and row boat.

Yeah I remember growing up on Topsail Island, NC. I would outside mid day and there was no one in either direction. I wanted a pickup beach volleyball game hahaha. Periwinkle is the wilds, birds, beach, boats, and quiet. I am glad the 1gb inet brought them a little bit of home. Happy the rest found use of the toys, and some relaxation. Have a great summer. :)

Relaxing beauty on river & bay

My family loved our weeklong vacation at this beautiful property. We enjoyed the private dock, rowboating, paddleboating, and paddle-boarding on the water. Had many late-night firepit conversations we will recall fondly for years. The host is very accommodating and easy to communicate with if needed. Would stay here again.

Girls getaway

This property is amazing. The house is older but husband renovated and just filled with charm. The water views are spectacular. All of the games provided on the very large property are amazing. I can't say enough nice things about this property I would definitely stay here again

River stay at Periwinkle

This was our second year staying at the Periwinkle on the Little Wicomico River. The accommodations are perfect for the group we have. We especially enjoyed the large deck out back looking at the water as we enjoyed visiting with our family and friends. We did some fishing off the dock and also took a kayak and a couple paddle boards out on the water. Over all it was very relaxing and a nice little vacation spot!

Lovely Chesapeake shore property

Spent a lovely long weekend here. Very happy with all aspects. Cozy well-appointed house, great dock & small beach area. Had a blast paddling the river in the kayaks. Great / helpful / friendly owner. All A+. Looking at returning next year, this time with our kids/family in tow.

Perfectly serene

Really special waterfront spot, immersed in nature and hidden away from neighbors and surrounding lake houses. Would be idyllic in the summer, but couldn’t have asked for a better stay during the winter, with flocks of geese and and owl in the mornings. Sit was more than accommodating and generous, and we were lucky to have come across his place.

Tranquility and privacy await

The summary and pictures do not do this place justice! We were astounded by the beauty and the wildlife and loved sitting on the dock at night just relaxing. Sit was incredibly helpful and gave us suggestions with the little boat we brought. This was the type of vacation where you could turn off your brain. The corner lot with the jetty is serene and the private beach is a dream come true. we hope to come back!

Heavenly!

This is a truly idyllic spot where you can swim, kayak and paddleboard, or just sit on the dock or lie in the swing or in the shade of the beautiful trees and watch the birds and listen to the world around you in bliss. Wonderful views all round. Great, helpful host. Comfy cottage. What more could you want?

Loved our stay!!

We cannot say enough great things about our stay here. Sit was so so great at not only communicating with us, but going above and beyond to supply everything we could need. We were even able to check in early which made for an even better start to our trip. We enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking each day and enjoyed some locally recommended places too! We cannot wait to come back! The area and everyone around were so so nice. It’s quiet, relaxing and a little slice of heaven on the bay. Thank you again!!

Seclusion Fun Quiet

Just loved periwinkle. High recommend. The host was super easy to communicate with. You can tell the pride he takes and this amazing property. Has a ton of land with amazing water views. Plenty to do or plenty not to do. I'll be back.

most relaxing vacation ever

My husband and I decided to visit this location for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the house and surrounding property. Everything about this vacation was so relaxing. The scenery was so beautiful, and the owner was very responsive to all of our questions. We had the opportunity to use their fire pit, kayaks and paddle boat and had so much fun. Our dog had a wonderful time too. Thank you for the opportunity to visit your beautiful home. ❤️
