The family enjoyed the short stay at this comfy spot! The place was clean, bright and inviting. The neighborhood was a great place for a good walk with shops nearby.

Thank you for your 5 star review, Ryan! We’re happy you were able to have a get-away with your family and that you chose our sweet home for your stay. Come back any time!
We were caught up in traffic following an accident on our way to Micanopy and realized we would arrive several hours later than anticipated. When we communicated this to Gia, she made sure that the house lights were turned on for us so we wouldn't arrive to a dark house. The house was exactly as depicted on the website - welcoming, comfortable, and safe. We settled in easily and felt at home. Grateful for our stay with Gia's care!

Dorri! Thank you for your kind words. You were ideal guests and we appreciate the care you took with our home. Come back any time!
Yes, the host was very responsive and communicated very well. The home was very clean and comfortable and in a quiet location off the main road. It should be noted there is no dishwasher, not a problem for us but it should be listed.

Hi Jim - Thank you for your kind words. As hosts, VRBO has us check a form that shows what amenities we have. Of course “dishwasher” is not checked because we do not offer one. So anyone looking for a dishwasher only needs to read a host’s lists of amenities provided. Hope this helps for your next stay! ~Gia
This was the cutest spot and perfect for our family's stay while getting our daughter ready for her new adventure. It was an easy drive to UF's campus and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

This is a cute little bungalow within walking distance to downtown Micanopy. Comfortable, cute, and cool -
From the original pine wood floors to the cozy beds, we can’t recommend this place enough!
Nice old Florida house in a quiet Florida town. Great to get away and unwind. The property owner was outstanding when our vehicle broke down and offered to extend our stay. Very nice to work with her.
Adorable and very comfortable. Highley recommended

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
We arrived in the evening time & received a check in text from the host with a comment buried in the text: "please do not put a/c unit lower than 71 as it could freeze up the unit." This was not noted in the home's listing. The next morning it was warm at 74, being that the home is old, we didn't realize there was a big problem until we woke from a nap just before noon, the thermostat read 77 and that's when we reached out to the host. The host sent a repair man to service the unit. We had to get ready for an event we planned to attend that night & we were melting while a stranger came & went through the home to fix the a/c. We were shocked when we saw the condition of the home's a/c unit, it is old & filthy. There is no way the home doesn't have routine problems, very disappointing (we realized why there were box fans stacked in the primary bed's closet). It was a miserable afternoon at the home. The repair man told us it would be bedtime before the home would be cooled. It never got below 72. It is noteworthy to mention that the home has uneven floors throughout, the bathroom has a loose and high threshold, the tub is moldy with a filthy shower curtain liner & the tub is super slippery. We slept poorly due to it being hot & the primary bed's mattress having a 4" piece of (upside down) egg crate foam. We asked host for a refund of 1 night (of the 2) & were told NO. Host said we should have notified them sooner about a/c & we should have thanked them for a/c repair.

If you are reading this review, I encourage you to read all the others that rate us 10/10 as EXCEPTIONAL HOSTS. I have been renting property long enough to know that some people will be dissatisfied no matter what you do. I refuse to go line-by-line defending our beloved property which NO GUEST has had any issues with except this one who appeared to be looking for a way to coerce me into giving them their money back. Was there an issue with the a/c? Yes. Did I have a repair man there within 30 minutes? Yes. It's Florida, it gets hot. Most units struggle to keep up with the heat during the hotter months. THIS IS NORMAL. Interestingly the a/c was working fine prior to the guests arrival. I'm guessing she did not listen to the house rules and by ignoring them, she created the problem and then did not contact me until 12:30pm the next day when I could have had someone there first thing in the morning or even that night, if necessary (it never got higher than 74 degrees that night based on her message to me). As a good host, I contacted her when they were late for their arrival time to make sure they were okay, I made sure lights were on if they arrived after dark, I extended a late check out literally saying "stay as long as you want", and the a/c was fixed for them by the time they returned to the home later that evening. I thought she would be thrilled that it was handled so quickly but the nasty text messages that were sent and the demands for "(at least) a minimum of one night's refund" was anything but grateful. Anyone who writes that they were "crying because of their hair" when they were heading to an OUTDOOR concert in the 90 degree weather seems a bit dramatic, honestly. Our sweet home is loved by us and our guests. It's an older home full of charm and personality. If that's what you like, you will definitely enjoy your stay.
As e-bikers we chose Micanopy to ride the Hawthorne bike trail from Gainesville to Micanopy. So glad we did! We enjoyed the antiquing in downtown Micanopy and especially the historical museum near the shops! The historic significance of the area was a treat to learn about. We felt safe and very comfortable in the owners home and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Nearby restaurants were also very good and quiet unique to the area. Alicia Bryan

Alicia - thank you so much for your 5-star review and your kind words. So glad you enjoyed your stay . Come back any time! :)
I had the happiest experience staying here ! This was my first solo trip as well ! The home is immaculate and so quiet, coffee on the porch in the morning was heaven! I brought my bike and it was just unbelievably beautiful to ride in the neighborhood, cemetery, dirt roads and to the town just a few minutes away ! Antique shops were so good! I felt safe...... and Gia is just precious to deal with, she calmed any fears I had during my stay.
I had the best chicken salad of my life at Coffee and Cream. The best bbq of my life at Pearl's. Terrific hike at Paynes Prairie, nearby ! I will be back !
