Turpentine House is locateted on one of the highest points of Havers, located on the largest island of the BVI‘s , Tortola.
The view leads over the Sir Francis Drake Channel and Cooper Island in the east, than Salt,- Peter-, and Norman Island to St. John and St. Thomas in the west. At the back you can enjoy a view over Sea Cows Bay. You will enjoy the fascinating sunrise as well as you will love the spectacular sunsets. On the western part of the building
you’ll find three air conditioned bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms
Each bedroom has a spectacular view over the Sir Francis Drake Channel as well as over the southern islands, like Peter Island, Norman Island, Salt Island, Cooper island and even St.
John in the US Virgin Islands
The bedrooms open up to very spacious greenwood Porch.
The Master bedroom is located on the upper level and can be locked off from the rest of the house. It consist of the bedroom, a separate dressing room and a Bathroom with double shower and a seperate toilet .Even the XXL double shower offers an astonishing view over the southern islands
The surrounding porch offers various cozy sitting areas,
ideal to enjoy a sundowner or to watch the spectacular sunset. The early risers will be treated to a marvelous sunrise, while you enjoy a coffee of your liking from the multi functional capsule coffee machine

Cannot recommend- arsenic in water

The property was as stated, with a wonderful view of the surrounding islands. Wonderful living area, with a fully stocked kitchen. I cannot rate this property highly than a 1 because has the property manager was leaving have having shown us the house, she stated “do not drink the water- it has arsenic in it”. No mention of this problem was written in any literature and or reviews. From what we heard, this was common knowledge in the area. The property manager left us with 3 gallons of water for 6 people for 4 days.

I am in the fifties and fulfilled togehter with my wife and friends the dream of a unique house on Tortola. We enjoy every visit , but unfortunately we still have to work at home.

Why they chose this property

For the first time we visited Tortola 25 years ago. Meanwhile we have good friends there and in 2019 we found with friends together an unbelieveably house to buy. We did and over 2 years we carried out some repairs with local partners and by ourselves. Now we are proud to open the house for guests when we are not on island. It is to pity to leave it empty with its 180 degree view from sunrise to sunset.

What makes this property unique

While our first visit on the property we were totally impressed by the unbelievable view to the south over Salt-, Peter,- Norman Island to St. John, Thatch and St. Thomas
