A perfectly reclaimed cottage with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean....
Ocean's End is an ideal base to explore the unadulterated splendour of the West Cork coastline. The cottage sits comfortably on the dramatic and rugged Seven Heads Peninsula and is a mere 400 metre stroll from the cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the perfect location to relax and unwind and immerse oneself in the natural unspoilt beauty of the surrounding landscape. There are a myriad of sandy swimming beaches at its door step and the multi award winning historical town of Clonakilty is a short drive away. The cottage has 2 double ensuite bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms as well as a main bathroom upstairs. The extensive living space that stretches from a compact, contemporary kitchen through to a sunny South facing dining room, occupies one half of the ground floor. From here you can choose to dine al fresco on the adjacent paved terrace. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a welcoming wood-burning stove and a sumptuous snuggly sofa. Across the hallway the sitting room features another wood-burning stove, a classic corner sofa and a generous tv for movie nights in. The space at the rear of the ground floor hosts a boot room, with guest WC, utility room and a shower, all cottage-styled with a home-makers detailing and skill. A wonderful outdoor seating area is provided, and sheltered garden room, should the weather turn inclement. The log burning fire, complete with cooking racks for grilling steaks and burgers is an enchanting bonus for those long evenings. Also included is a charcoal bbq and a wood-burning pizza oven. Ocean's End sits adjacent to an award winning dairy enterprise so early morning milking excursions can be arranged, affording you a wonderful opportunity to deeply connect with nature and immerse yourself in the best of what West Cork farm life has to offer. Your reward – a bottle of fresh creamy milk straight from the cow to enjoy with a well-earned breakfast. Don’t forget to pack your wellies!

A beautiful house, well maintained, providing plenty of space for all the family. The facilities are excellent with well thought out provisions and attention to detail. The host (Deirdre) was very welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this property
If I could give this property more than 5 stars, I would. This place is stunning, the host is so generous and a fantastic communicator. If you’ve stumbled across this property, book it.
Incredible stay. We wished it was even longer!! Deidre and John were wonderful hosts. Our 3 year old loved meetings the cows, hens and taking walks with Teddy, the most friendly pup!! Even our 1 year old learned 'mooo' during our stay :) truly an amazing stay
Ocean's End was immaculately clean on arrival and completely equipped for a family's needs. The gifts on a arrival were a great touch, and the house felt very homely whilst still being very smart and luxurious. Excellent location, suoer relaxing and tranquil, but easy to get to attractions from too.
What a wonderful stay! The house was immaculate. The attention to detail was second to none. Everything was just perfect. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a rural retreat in Co. Cork.
Great communication with the host! A fabulous and gorgeous home with everything that you need for a stay. Spotlessly clean and lovely views. The fires were so cozy and so much room for a family of 5. Would really love to return. Thoroughly recommend this place if visiting West Ireland.
Im sorry about the broken glass. I bumped the top and it cracked. I left the salt grinder on the back of the counter with a small sliver of plastic that was broken off inside. Not sure if you can fix. We had the best time and enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
This property was magnificent. Check in was easy, the property owner had great communication leading up to our stay as well as during our stay. Many local recommendations as we were here over the St Patrick’s holiday. We were welcome with fresh milk, eggs, bread, jam, and some liqueur where their cream is used to make. The home was stunning, spotless and so cozy. View from the home are even more beautiful in person than in the photos online. This was by far our best stay and close to many local villages and a nice drive to Kinsale and Cobh. I cannot put into words how incredible our stay here was. We will be back when we come to Ireland.
The house was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and equipped to a high standard with everything we needed. The hosts, Deirdre & John, were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the location of the property was amazing. In every way a perfect place to relax or to use as a base for exploring the area.
We had a wonderful time at Oceans End! Our hosts Deidre and John were so welcoming and kind. Growing up on farms it was so very nice to enjoy the cows and the quiet of it all.
Our stay was perfect. The pictures on the app along with the narrative were spot on. We enjoyed the view and quiet environment and watching the cows come in for milking and go back out. John was a good instructor for milking cows and was a lot of fun. I will recommend this spot to my friends or anyone else looking for this kind of stay.
Superb high quality accommodation, with lots of extra additional touches. The welcome pack with fresh milk, butter, soda bread and lots of other little bits was fab! I can’t fault anything about Oceans End plus our host was really lovely and so helpful. This part of Ireland is beautiful, lots of lovely beaches and towns, well worth the visit.
This has been our favorite VrBo hands down! From the moment you walked in with the smells, then the kitchen with eggs from their farm, fresh baked cookies and bread with homemade jelly! Also had fresh milk from the cows that morning! The icing on the cake was having John the husband taking the time to show the boys how to milk the cows! Can’t wait to go back!
The property is beautifully decorated, well-appointed, comfortable, and welcoming. The hosts are so kind and the extra touches were so appreciated! An incredibly memorable stay!
We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The cottage was in immaculate condition – spotless, beautifully presented, and clearly cared for to the highest standard. It was incredibly comfortable, with every little detail thoughtfully considered. The amenities truly went above and beyond; everything we could possibly need was provided, and more. It felt like a home away from home, with those extra special touches that made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. The location was fantastic – peaceful and picturesque, yet perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area.A special thank you to the wonderful hosts, Deirdre and John, who were so friendly and helpful both before and throughout our stay. The added bonus of getting to see the cows being milked and cuddling the calves was such a unique and memorable experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this cottage.
The cottage was amazing and the hosts were extremely hospitable! Everything was super clean and exactly how pictures described. It was very comfortable and had everything you need. The countryside where cottage is located has beautiful scenery and it truly was a small piece of heaven.
John & Deirdre are great host's. The property is clean and comfortable in a setting that is hard to beat. The place is sitting on an active Dairy Farm and John is happy to give you a lesson in Dairy Farming. Everyone in our party was very happy with our stay.
We loved our time in this beautiful house. So well equipped and very comfortable, the hosts have thought of everything! Incredible location and we loved the chance to visit the cows and help with the milking one evening. Thanks so much for having us, we will be back in the future for sure!
This is an amazing property, lovingly renovated and thoughtfully appointed. We wanted for nothing, except more time to spend here. The hosts are wonderful, the views were outstanding.
We returned in November for the second time in as many years and it was just as perfect as we remembered. There is something really special about Ocean's End. Thank you Deirdre and John for another wonderful stay.
This property has everything you will ever need for a comfortable and relaxed holiday in a stunning location in Ireland. It is obvious a lot of thought and care has gone into ensuring that everything is catered for at such a high spec and cleanliness. Deidre and John are so friendly and helped make our holiday one to remember. Such a fantastic place to holiday in a remote and quiet setting but have all the comforts and enable you to explore the area.Thank you.
