About this property

John Potter Farmhouse c.1775 URI

Newly remodeled and refinished farmhouse originally built in 1775. Cozy home with thoughtful details throughout. Surrounded by nature yet adjacent to the University of Rhode Island and near hiking trails, restaurants, train station and beaches. We look forward to hosting you - Jess & Dj
The space
very quaint and cozy. small spaces in the original house with a spacious and light filled new kitchen space complete with wood burning stove.

Potential for noise — Our home is on the corner of a main street near the campus of URI. There is the potential for vehicle noise.

*WINTER NOTES* kitchen / dining area is not heated by radiator heat as is throughout the rest of the home. This space is heated by a space heater and / or by the wood burning stove. The wood burning stove can be fun, but requires attention and stoking while in use. It would not be a suitable option for use with small children.

Lovely home
We went to visit our son who is a student at URI. I loved how close we were to campus. The house was lovely and I will definitely be staying there again!

Neat House in a great location
My son and I spent a few days in this house while checking out the University of Rhode Island (campus just across the street) and surrounding area. The house is very neat from a historical perspective (built in 1775) and it was very clean and has been updated to include all necessary modern amenities. The old radiator heating works great throughout the house (except kitchen where they provided a space heater). Great stay!!

A treasure!!
The John Potter Farmhouse is a treasure waiting to be discovered. The house with all the colorful leaves surrounding it enhanced our trip to Rhode Island. It was hard to leave the house to visit Newport and Block Island because it was so cozy and comfortable. It is located in a great location to visit some of the prime vacation spots in Rhode Island. We enjoyed cooking some meals in the sunny kitchen because the kitchen is equipped with all you need and even has a Kitchen Aid mixer. One of the best VRBO houses we have booked!
