Born and raised here in Soldotna, my grandparents used to have a sawmill. Most of my family has built from their own logs. After one excruciating summer of my dad attempting to make salmon jerky in my mom's oven, I swore off salmon for the next 15 years.
The hubby was born in Oregon, but raised up here. His hunting began with frogs that his mom would find in his pockets, but has turned it into one of the most amazing, appreciative, and ethical practices I've seen. He has been learning to do his own taxidermy and has an impressive method of seasoning and creating sausages. Apparently it's proprietary :)
