Shannon’s house was perfect for us, walked to the store and park several times, beds were comfortable and house was well stocked. Shannon was a gracious host and gave us great ideas on things to see and things to do in area.

This property is exactly what is advertised and more!!
Thank you so much for providing a comfortable, roomy and beyond what we expected place to stay! Shannon met us when we arrived to Soldotna and gave us a tour and info she thought we may need. Her house is so cozy and cute. It was close to everything we planned to do while in town. We would highly recommend this house!!!

Nicer than the pictures show
Excellent place to stay, there were three of us staying there, and spending the day along the Kenai River. We had a great stay, BBQ'd pretty much every evening, and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. What a terrific way to spend our trip to the Kenai, having the ability to cook in her fully stocked kitchen was also an amazing cost savings and great way to unwind each night. Fresh Salmon on the BBQ was quite a treat.

shannon was very responsive towards any issues or questions.we had an issue with the hot water(not hot enough)which was handled the very next day.I f fishing, you will have to pay for cold storage as the freezer is small and won’t completely freeze your fish.we had 4 4 day limits and it will only hold 2 days worth for 4 people.Overall great experience.

Excellent! Great location, perfect!
The property was just as described! Location could not be better, light traffic area. Home is set up just right, Three bedrooms with queen beds were very nice. Kitchen was well setup and easy to work in! The large gas grill on the back deck was easy to operate and had very even heat across the cooking area.
As we were there for the fishing the table to clean fish was very much appreciated! This fish cleaning area had a water hose and garbage container for the fish trash.
Pets were welcome so the two dogs did just fine, just had to clean-up after them as normal.
We will be repeat customers!! Thank you very much Shannon, you made it easy for us. L,D,@D.

So easy!
It was the most amazing trip and staying here was crucial to the vacation! It had absolutely everything We needed and it made things so simple. We didn't have to pack as much because we could do laundry and we saved so much not having to eat out and utilizing the full kitchen. Will absolutely stay here again!

animal friendly and walking distance to everything
It is so wonderful that pets are invited here! It is a beautiful home within walking distance to the grocery store and the espresso bar. And even thought it is right in the middle of town, this street is so quiet. Amazing and so appreciated as I have trouble sleeping in a new place. I recommend this lovely rental.

About the host
Hosted by Shannon Dwyer
I am a lifelong Alaskan who grew up on the South Peninsula but has lived in Soldotna for 20+. I have recreated on our waters, trails and snowpack. It's a great life. I enjoy the simple things with my family and my dog and cat.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this property when it was built in 2006 and counted myself lucky to buy it. I am a professional and my home is close to everything I need for my job and my life and a short drive takes me to all the trails of hiking and skiing that I love. I enjoy my fire pit for evenings at home and my walking/cycling freedom when I need to get somewhere and don't want use gas.
What makes this property unique
My house is a like an eddy in a river: close to the rushing rapids but quiet and self contained on it's own. There's as much or as little as you want to do 24/7/365.
