We have stayed here for pir family vacation for the past 6 years. Owner and manager are always easy to get a hold of if needed, and quick to get issues resolved.
Absolutely beautiful home on fabulous Lake Santeetlah. We had a wonderful time just hanging out and using our kayaks. Definitely will want to return next summer!
This is our second year staying at this property. The views are absolutely the best and the house is huge. There is plenty of space inside and out for a large family. The deck down by the water was my favorite spot (when I wasn't in the water). The upstairs bathroom and the basement bathroom also had some updates which was a nice surprise. Lake Santeetlah continues to be our favorite vacation spot!

Amazing home with gorgeous views!
Perfect vacation location. Home was spectacular, the photos don’t do it justice.
Plenty of space, loved the multi floor plan, perfect for kids.
Will definitely bring kayaks next time. The lake is huge, and deserved to be explored. The kids had a great time swimming and fishing off the floating dock.
Hope to return next year

Thanks your great review. You are always welcome in our mountain home. Although we work hard to make our home comfortable to all the true winner is the beauty of nature that si all around it.
Thanks again and be well. See you next year. 👍
As always, we enjoyed our stay, been staying there for 6 years now. The views and the sunsets are well worth it. It is close enough to town but yet far enough out that you don't notice it. We had no issues this time. In times past if there were any problems they were addressed and fixed quickly. The owner has always been quick to respond to any questions asked.
Terrific View, the home needs some attention, upper level toilet would not shut off when flushed, had to lift the tank lid and giggle the float. The oven display on the stove was hard to read especially the temperature for baking, the coffee maker was old and missing some parts. Some lights and switches did not work.
This is a wonderful property and provides GORGEOUS long views of the Smoky Mountains. The property is perfect for large families and has several indoor living areas to "fan out". Additionally-there are several large outdoor areas (upper deck, lower deck, dock/ patio areas, etc). The landscaping is so pretty and there were tons of flowers in bloom when we were there in August. We will be back next summer! Thank you!
The home is well kept and the owners are easy to communicate with. The view from the loft and porches is like no other. You are close to the marina to fill up your boat with gas, which we had to do several times. The lake has very little boat traffic even on the weekends. Although this year there was more than the previous years but still not bad. I would recomend this home to any and everyone.

Thanks for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your time at our Mt home. Welcome anytime 👍
We had great time on the lake (3 families). Great property, outstanding lake views, and communication is superb.
Any issues was resolved in no time.
Thank you Raul for all your help and for allowing to stay in your great house.
Internet/WiFi is super slow and unusable for media and video calls, but you can survive on 5G/LTE with 3-4 bars (T-Mobile).
This is the 5th year we have booked this house for our family summer vacation. The location is great, nit far from town. If you wanted to ride the tail of the dragon you are not far from that either. The view of the lake and surrounding mountains is perfect. The owners are great and easy to work with. We have experienced minor issues during our stays, nothing that caused us any distress. Send the owners a message and get either a call back or email reply or both very shortly. They are quick to get anything fixed that needs fixing.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
Our first stay at this property was in 2011 and we just booked our ninth stay. Thank you, Raul, for sharing! This house has become a character in our family vacation stories. We love Santeetlah specifically because it is remote and inconvenient and Robbinsville is missing all the things that you'll get at Lake Toxaway or Highlands or Boone. Here you'll just get national forests, a quiet lake, and some of the best views anywhere. We love it and we'll be back for as long as Raul will have us.

Thanks for your very kind words. We look forward to having you back to our mountain home.
The location of the house was fantastic. The views and the windows were amazing. I've never seen a lake so beautiful. There was lots of things to do. We rented a boat for the lake, went hiking, white water rafting and on scenic drives. It was wonderful to have a pet friendly home so we could bring our whole family including the furry friends. I would definitely come back. I wish I could live in Santeetlah.....that's how much I loved it. The gardens around the house were also wonderful. Jealous of the hydrangeas. Never seen ones so big with such great flowers. The sunsets were fantastic. Thanks for letting us rent.

Lovely and Spacious
Like so many others, we found the home and setting just about perfect for our three-generation family vacation. The only issues were:
- Despite what the listing and reservation confirmation stated, the street number for the house is 472.
- There was no WIFI. It seemed to be an ISP issue but was not solved while we were there.
Otherwise, the house and dock suited us well with a large kitchen, spacious living areas and nice bedrooms. The setting is fantastic, facing the undeveloped Nantahala National Forest. The lake is delightful and generally uncrowded and, with the exception of Saturday, was peaceful and quiet.

Unfortunately a privious renter reset the WiFi PW to factory setting. Very sorry you had troubles.
The address is a little more complicated issue. Two years ago the city decided, for no particular reason, to change our address number from 780 to 472. The problem is that if you google 472 my house does not appear. So we kept 780 at vrbo and mentioned the change on the site. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for visiting our lake home.
The views are unreal and the water was perfect. This lake is a 10/10. The side of the lake that you look at is a national forest I believe so it is untouched wilderness. The house was perfect for us. Me, my husband and 4 kids used the basement. There were 2 bedrooms with very comfortable bunk beds, a large living space with deck access and a bathroom. One set of grandparents used the main floor master and the other used the top floor master. Each master had its own sitting room. Then the main floor had a huge living space with sliders leading off to top deck. Kitchen was large and the house has 2 eating areas. The deck by the water is huge and there is a refrigerator down there. Floating dock had tons of space to tie up all of your lake stuff and the water is deep for swimming, diving and all the fun stuff. We had a great time! Hope to rent this house again in the future!!

Thanks for the review 👍. Your welcome back anytime
The home and the views are beautiful. The pictures really do not do the place justice. We had 9 people staying there and there was more than enough room. The views from upstairs are incredible. You should know though that there are quite a few steps to get down to the lake. We enjoyed swimming in the lake during the day and lots of ping pong at night. Also, there is a discrepancy in the address and Google Maps. The real address is not 780 but that is what you need to put into your GPS in order to find the home. I found this out by reading someone else’s review. Also, if you follow your GPS it will try to make you take a left down Cherokee Trl which you can’t do because it is one way and the gate is closed…just take the next left and follow all the way around (a couple of miles) and you’ll find the house. Once you are on the road you will understand why it is one way. Overall, we had a great stay. I would highly recommend.

Thanks for visiting our mountain home. For reasons I still do not understand, several years ago the city decided to change the house addresses in our community and we have been unable to update the internet maps. We have updated the Vrbo site with info and will provide an email to our visitors prior to arrival. Thanks for your review, it’s always wonderful to hear that great memories have been made in our home. 👍
About the host
Hosted by Raul Echarte
We are a retired married couple from the busy city of Miami, Fl and enjoy the peace and tranquility that this house provides for us.
Why they chose this property
One of the main reasons why we chose to buy is because of the national preserve in front of the house. The view that you see will never change; so you have no worries of any other houses destroying your gorgeous outdoors views.
What makes this property unique
Being right on the lake is very nice and convenient. We park the boat on the dock and its ready to go in the morning no dealing with the dock master. just in the boat and out to enjoy the beautiful lake.
