This was a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway! The location was perfect and we had plenty of space for a 6 person family. Very close to the gap trail and easy access to town and hiking. We had fun for all!
Only stayed one night. Everything about the Laurel Guest House was great! Could not have been better. Recommend the host have a bike lock on the premises for bike riders riding the GAP trail. Too heavy to carry in a pack.
I love Ohiopyle! Usually like to camp in Kentucky Knob campgrounds but we chose to stay in town for the first time. It was so nice to walk to everything…bike trail, river, hiking trails! The kids loved not having to pile into the car. We would rent in town again!
We were in town for a rafting trip and this was the perfect place to stay! It’s close to food, rafting check in, and hikes. Would recommend for anyone staying in Ohiopyle for a weekend
Highly convenient location with quick access to everything in town. Wifi access in the house was clutch since the area is sparsely serviced otherwise. Reasonable rate, would stay again.
From the moment I unlocked the door I was taken aback by the beauty of this home! It was unbelievable. It was a neat set up upstairs with how the rooms are divided with the steps. We loved having 2 separate sitting areas, 2 full bathrooms, and a full kitchen. We used the grill one night which worked perfectly! Once we parked there we could get everywhere in town we needed to go by just walking or biking. The kids enjoyed the board games and Twister and we enjoyed reading the old guest logs. Our group may grow in size next year, but if it doesn’t we’ll be back!
The house was clean and a convenient base camp for my group riding the GAP in late September. The listing description and photos are accurate. It isn’t fancy or spacious since it is an older house but the beds and living room furniture are comfortable and the location is great.
Everything was clean and in order. My main issue was a terrible strong odor all through the house. Like a disinfectant spray. I opened some windows to air out for a bit which helped but didn’t eliminate the odor.
The house was clean, was well stocked with plenty of towels, wash cloths, and clean linen. I would say the only problem was there were a lot of partiers in nearby homes singing loudly till two or three in the morning I had to turn on the air conditioning and freeze to drown the noise out. Also, shades or blinds would be nice in the bedrooms since the street could see you dressing if you wanted to get dress in any of the bedrooms, we had one problem with the door. Lork called the manager and they were there in a flash. That was wonderful.
This house was very nice - clean when we arrived. Good sized bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. Easy check in, and like everything in Ohiopyle, a stone's throw from all the outdoor rec you need. TV, wi-fi, appliances, etc. all worked great.
Going with 4 stars instead of 5 for just a couple small-ish reasons. With the high price of the rental and the limited range of food options in town, it would be really great if the kitchen had a cupboard for the owners or renters to stock a basic pantry. We found just salt and pepper shakers. There's no grocery store in town and all of the restaurants just serve pretty basic pub grub. For those looking to take advantage of the kitchen, would be nice if you didn't have to bring every last cooking supply and instead had a cupboard with a few leftover spices or cooking oils or other basics.
Second, there is no central AC so most of the rooms have window units. Ours was a little noisey at night running at the power level necessary to cool off the room - took the fun out of listening to a midnight thunderstorm roll through or the quiet of the wilderness in the early morning.
