Had everything we needed and proximity to the beach is unmatched! Definitely recommend arriving in the evening as during prime beach time parking can be tight. Check in was super easy and straightforward and the kitchen was well equipped.
Great location and overall nice space! Just a few corners and outdoor area could have been a little cleaner. Liked this cottage and would recommend staying there if in the area.
The location was perfect and the cottage had everything we needed as a family of 4. It does need a deep cleaning inside and out. The only bathroom is located in the main bedroom downstairs. This was not a problem for us. The host were very responsive. Overall we did enjoy our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very nice, very clean, recently upgraded.
Susan and Tom were very responsive and provided helpful information
We are planning to come back
We LOVED the cozy cottage. We were a family of 5 who lived and stayed comfortably here. It was fully stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen. The place was clean and well taken care of. We were a 10 minute walk to the beach and had plenty of outdoor space to sit and enjoy the evening. We will absolutely be returning!
The unit was clean and well decorated. There was a very strong smell of chlorine/bleach when we arrived. The unit was smaller than expected; we had 4 people and it felt tight. Also the only bathroom was off the master bedroom so inconvenient. However, close to beach and good response from the owners when emailed.
Originally booked this to have easy access to the Indiana Dunes, however with the heat decided to instead spend our time at Washington Park Beach. The house was super close, and stocked with sand toys and beach chairs. Everything was exactly as pictured and very convenient. The beach is fantastic, aside from the industrial area nearby. Some of the clearest water and best sand bottom we’ve been to along Lake Michigan. The stairs up to the loft area are very tiny and steep, just a warning they may not be good for someone who has mobility challenges. However, this sleeping area was perfect for my two kids to share!
The house was the perfect location to the beach, zoo, and parks. It was great for our family trip.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Location was great! Owners were readily available until there was a problem. Upon arrival, there was a pungent sewage smell that overpowered the place. We were not even able to sleep in the master bedroom because of the smell, resorting to the couch. Susan, the owner responded with “we wil let cleaning staff know” the first email, without any ways to help accommodate this. My second follow up email on our last day was not met with any response at all. Other minor issues- broken blinds wouldn’t close, light bulbs out, and keurig didn’t seem to work. AC window units in upstairs and living room but didn’t seem to cool down the place.Overall, location was great. Beach gear in closet was great, but customer service and cleanliness was lacking.
Cute little cottage, well-decorated with a big comfy couch. Great location with a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Well-stocked, pretty much every kitchen utensil you might need, some small beach chairs, etc.My primary issue with it is the smell emanating from the downstairs bedroom, particularly the bathroom. I'm no expert so I can't be sure, but my suspicion is it's something to do with stagnant water or another general plumbing issue. It has a scent I would describe as reminiscent of sewage & mildew. It comes and goes in waves and it's not unbearable, but it's fairly rough when it suddenly hits you. Also unpleasant when you can smell it at the kitchen table while eating a meal, or in bed when trying to fall asleep. If this issue can be fixed, this is the perfect place for small families to stay in Michigan City.
What a cute cottage! Great space for our family, close to beach. It had very good outdoor seating and comfortable mattresses. Definitely will be our new spot in Michigan City!
My girlfriend and myself along with our dogs had a great little weekend visiting with relatives and enjoying the beach life. Cozy cabin 1 block from the beach, quiet area, no noisy neighbors. Bed was nice to sleep in all linens were clean. Overall great stay!
This little property has a lot of interior charm! They pay close attention to the things offered in the kitchen area!!! From someone who loves to cook. Great location close to the beach. Furniture comfy and useful. I recommend this property and the host.
My husband and I stayed with our two 5 year olds. The twins loved the loft area with the skylights. We appreciated the cleanliness and the proximity to the beach.
The cottage was in a perfect location for us, walking distance to a semi-private feeling beach and local cafes. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and even a couple cold beers in the fridge. Tom and Susan also graciously let us check out later on Father’s Day so that we wouldn’t miss out on our extended family’s Beach Day. Would totally recommend their beach cottage.
We loved the location and the house - it was close to Indiana Dunes which is where we were hiking plus Michigan City. It was also 2 blocks to the beach which was a bonus. There were workers there Saturday all day pounding and making noise which was a little frustrating when we were trying to relax and rest but otherwise it was a beautiful location and the house met all our needs!
The cottage was cozy but had everything you need. It’s the perfect location and the owners were great. It was a little too close for comfort with our original crew of 6 adults and a toddler but once a couple of them left half way through the trip it was perfect. The location was absolutely perfect. I loved it!!
Stay was good. Area was safe and quiet. Ate at Dune Billies - was a neat local place. Dinner at Shoreline was also good. Follow the directions in the guide to a great beach within walking distance. Just FYI if you drive over to Washington Park there is a $15 fee to park. We went to Indiana Dunes Stare Park which is 20 minutes away, enjoyed the dune challenge and wonderful beach there too..
Great little cottage Just had a delayed Check in!!! No paper towels , tolit papar, bath soap, and a light on in a locked closet. Floors definitely need to be replaced soon there sinking . Otherwise awesome location
This cottage was a good location for our family vacation to the beach. We had a great stay and our boys enjoyed the beds upstairs and felt like they had their own space. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We had a great stay!
