About this property

Serene & Magical Cabin - Family/ADA-Friendly, w/Barrel Sauna & Fireplace!

Our cabin is nestled among Cedar, Oak and Pine trees in the peaceful Pine Cove neighborhood of Idyllwild. Our property is situated on almost an acre of mostly flat land. Our 1955 cabin is charming and therapeutic & serves as a great retreat for families with young children & seniors. We are minutes away from walking and biking trailheads with beautiful views & are a short drive to Idyllwild's center of town full of shops and restaurants, Lake Fulmor, Hemet Lake, Strawberry Creek & Humber Park.

The space
Our Idyllwild home is a 1955 cedar wood-paneled cabin located in the quiet and serene Pine Cove area of Idyllwild. With large picturesque windows throughout, there are lots of opportunities to soak in the forest nature that surrounds the property. The living room cathedral ceiling, hanging hammocks and the wood-burning fireplace all offer the experience of a therapeutic and cozy cabin. Our outdoor space is a room of its own, with a huge award-winning deck featuring three giant cedar trees growing up through the planks. Relax in our hammock or chaise lounges and watch the birds sing and squirrels swing. We strive to maintain a zero-waste, non-plastic and minimalist household.

Guest access
All guests are welcome in every room in the Yellow-colored Main house including the kitchen, laundry room, dining area, living room with TV (Android TV), the attic loft, enclosed porch, the magical back yard with a complete set of outdoor furniture including a BBQ area, patio tables, double chaise, hammock, barrel sauna, sand table, climbing dome and children's playset. In addition, the house boasts front and side yard forests and a relaxing front porch with a bistro table, and a plethora of parking.

Definitely planning to return
We had a great weekend. The beds were so comfy and the linens were high quality. Trails were a few blocks away leading to an amazing view. The sauna took a minute to heat up but it was hot when it did and was super steamy when water was applied to the rocks. Seriously huge deck out back that has three trees growing out of it. This made outdoor dining really special. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. High quality pots and pans, too. Great details throughout the house with a minimalist vibe. 5 Stars!!

serene wonderland
This was such a relaxing, peaceful stay. The property itself is incredible - you're surrounded by trees and shrubs everywhere and the back deck allows you to just take it all in. When it was too hot outside, we just hung out in the sunroom with the cooler on. The kids were outside the whole time. There is so much to explore, in the front, back and side yards and we felt safe, knowing the kids couldn't wander away because the property is fenced in. The interior is designed with such thoughtfulness. The linens are very high quality and the beds are VERY comfortable. Instructions are set out all over the property so you always know where everything is and how to operate everything. Aziza was a wonderful host, very communicative and responded promptly. While it was too hot to use the outdoor sauna this time, we'll definitely be coming back in the winter and that will be first on our list.

Perfect for family
We enjoyed the stay with our young kids. Perfect house for them with a playground, huge yard and attic space to play. Walking distance to nature and a small local market. Was everything we were looking for - to get away from the city and connect with nature.

Relaxation and beauty at its finest
This location was beautiful. So many giant trees on the property. We took a short walk to a hiking trail that overlooked the valley below. We had never tried a sauna before but now we love it! Sitting on the deck at night was peaceful and quiet. The air smelled amazing. Center of town is about a 7 min drive. Idyllwild is so cool. We’ll be back.

Perfect Mountain Getaway
Just what our family needed. Plenty of outdoor space to run and play and a whole loft set up for the kids. Really neat wooden toys. Great little playground and the kids loved the tree swing. The adults loved the local coffee and the deck with chaise lounge chairs. (Oh I dont want to forget the warm water bidet in the bathroom:) Host was quick to respond when we asked questions. Stay here, the kids will love it.

Why they chose this property

I grew up visiting Idyllwild with my father and siblings. I have fond memories of visiting the same cabin each trip, being revitalized by the refreshing mountain air and evergreen trees surrounding us and playing with my siblings in the snow and walking along the river bed at Strawberry Creek. Idyllwild is a special place to me and the natural mountain environment is restorative and healing. We chose this home because we could see our growing family enjoying the space for generations to come. The property is also ADA-friendly, so we believe that we can grow old in the property without experiencing any physical challenges in the space.

What makes this property unique

From the cabin's cedar wood-paneled walls to the cathedral ceilings, we fell in love with the well-maintained original features and characteristics of the cabin. We also continue to be in awe of the property's huge outdoor forest area and the expansive back yard deck. With a loft and an enclosed porch connecting the back yard deck to the house, the huge property boasts opportunities for exploration, play and relaxation. Our cabin home is a child's paradise and an adult's oasis.
