The House was Perfect

If you are in need of a place to stay while visiting the Linganore Winery. This is the house to stay. Under 10 minutes to the Winery. The home was very clean and and really cute. The decor was amazing. The only drawback is the parking. Very tight, but we worket it out. House sits close to the road but not a problem for us. We were also able to walk into town which has two bars and places to eat. Overall great trip. We will be back for our next wine visit. Thanks Stuart, for allowing us to use your property. Beautiful new remodel

First--many good things to say! This house is BEAUTIFUL! Hardwood floors throughout are stunning; living area w fireplace is as pretty as pictured. The new remodeled bathrooms are gorgeous. Nice artwork & tastefully decorated. Stuart (host) is responsive and personable. What's not to love? No deal-breakers, but it may be helpful for others to know: 1)the primary bedroom with an ensuite has only a FULL bed. This was a bit small for my husband at 6'3" and myself at 5'7". 2)kitchen: appliances, cookware, dishes are new, but not enough variety for daily cooking. 3)My husband and tall adult sons at 6'4" & 6'0" often hit their heads on the edge of the glass venting system over the stove. 4) As Stuart warned, the road is somewhat busy & it's difficult to see traffic coming from one direction. Will we be back? YES! We had a wonderful stay overall & recommend highly.

Host profile image
I'm an artist at heart, and author, who absolutely love the outdoors, sunsets & peace of mind - which is one of the reasons I love Mt. Airy. The best stress-reliever I know is sitting on the deck with a glass of wine watching some of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever seen. In addition to being a great stress reliever and an opportunity to completely relax, it's a great place to get the ol' creative juices going, which I enjoy. Professionally, I'm a recruiter (aka, Headhunter). I find people jobs, primarily in the medical/sales industry. What I enjoy most about my work is the intrinsic satisfaction it gives me when someone I've placed in a new position tells me it was the best thing that ever could have ever happened to/for them. Being a Host is similar in that regard. It gives me tremendous satisfaction, knowing my guests have had an amazing experience at my place. I have a 5 star rating on AirBnB, where it was first listed beginning this year. (I'm new to VRBO & still getting familiar with this site - so, thanks, in advance, for your patience!)

Why they chose this property

Honestly, I had no idea Mt. Airy had as much to offer as it does when I bought this home. I'm not sure I'd even heard of Mt. Airy, actually - and I only live an hour away! But I couldn't be happier that I discovered it! What I did notice immediately about Mt. Airy is that it's an absolutely beautiful place, and the sunsets are almost surreal. I added a deck to the top floor and, "WoW!" I could sit up there for hours watching twilight roll into a starry-night sky. Each time, I think there couldn't be a more spectacular sunset, until the next eve when Mother Nature outdoes herself yet again. I've been to the Caribbean and Southern California and nothing I've seen beats the sunsets from the deck. The sky literally floods with color and it grows richer and richer with each passing minute. With the mountain backdrop, its difficult to describe it in words, except that it's truly impossible to match. Mount Airy is an amazing place: the fresh air, the scenery, the things to do, and the tranquility of it all. It's hard not to fall in love with it. Plus, while it feels like you're a million miles away from everything, it's really quite accessible should you need anything. You get the best of both worlds. Historic Mt. Airy itself, only a five minute walk from the house, is a charming little "townlet" (as I like to call it) with dining, drinks, light shopping, even a church. (A church, a bar and food. What else do you need!? :) If you want more, it's only a 5 minutes by car to all sorts of eating places, wineries, parks, shopping and other conveniences. Drive a little further and you're in the mountains, going for a hike or rafting, or touring some historic landmarks. The list goes on. It's really a terrific getaway spot. Come visit...you'll see what I mean!

What makes this property unique

Besides the location, being close to several wineries, minutes from Historic Downtown Mt. Airy, the mountains, and beautiful scenic drives everywhere, the home is beautiful. It is 100% fully renovated inside with new everything:: appliances, hardwood floors, windows, walls, kitchen, baths, and a deck offering some of the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine! The interior is bright, with windows everywhere (up & down), wonderful views, spacious, yet cozy, and nicely decorated. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. My personal favorite spot is the deck. It's nice and high, and you can just sit back, relax, and take in the amazing views, and let your mind drift away!
