Needs a Deep Clean Inside and Out
We frequent the area several times a year. I booked this place for our annual 4th holiday and was disappointed based on the reviews. The place was not as clean and well maintained as it looked online. Communication and access to the property was great.
The house is lovely and comfortable. Beautiful views. Thank you for opening for us to use.

We had such a terrific time, the cabin did not disappoint. It was more than beautiful, very clean. The outdoor areas were immaculate. Such a beautiful home. We are so lucky, we got to stay there and make such wonderful memories! We brought our two dogs. It is very dog friendly. There are gates on the porch to keep them in the back and there is a dog run.!

We are grateful for your feedback. Our staff is thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the home and we look forward to welcoming you back to our home soon.
The house had beautiful views and a great outdoor area. Comfortable beds and plenty of TVs and blankets. Our kids loved the hot tub! We made a trip into Boone and it was about a 20 minute drive. Not bad at all. Easy communication with the management company. Some things to note below, although none of these items would prevent us from staying here again. It's a beautiful home! * We've stayed in quite a few rental properties and I was a little disappointed at the lack of toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/body wash), dishwasher detergent and trash bags. Definitely pack your own! * There were a few maintenance items which we let the owner know about - hopefully they are fixed for next time. * The insulation isn't great so be prepared to hear every noise of people walking around above/below you. Some rugs would help. It was just our family so wasn't a huge deal, but if you were with a larger group it would have been worse.
The place was awesome! Beautiful! Great scenery. I wish the check in and check out times were different because we lost 2 full days of being able to enjoy the resort. A few minor things were in need of repair but I advised the owners the day of departure. All in all, I am planning on reserving this place for more time next year! It was amazing!

We enjoyed our stay but there are a few housekeeping things the owners should be aware of. How can I let them know without creating a bad review
This is the most beautiful cabin I have ever stayed in. It has everything you would need! We had our 90 and 87 year old parents join us and our requirement was a step less entrance with the master bedroom and bath on the main level. It was perfect for them.
My only disappointment was the fact that the pool room was on the upper level. Our parents were unable to navigate the stairs and enjoy that amenity with us but they enjoyed their evening TV time together.
The outside had a fire pit, hot tub, grill all on a level stone patio area. We highly recommend this gorgeous cabin for families to stay. And this cabin is pet friendly! It’s a win win!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share regarding your stay. Your trust and your business are incredibly important to us. Its our sincerest hope that a revisit will happen, sooner rather than later.
This house is very nice with great upgrades.
Positives;
Large privately located cabin.
Huge kitchen with nice appliances
Huge master suite
Large deck/patio outside
Pool room upstairs is great with a huge tv and reclining sofas
Not so positives:
There were several large bees nests under the deck and two individuals in our party got stung within 30 min of arrival.
Has a nice view but it can really only be seen from upstairs or a corner on the first floor.
The house felt like a new rental. No guestbook, binder with activities or “personal “ touches.
The house has 2 king beds and 2 queen beds. We had 4 kids in our party and had to bring air mattress for 2. Bunk beds would have been better than 2 queen beds.
One big reason we rented this cabin was the outdoor patio with grill, hot tub and pizza oven. However, you are not allowed to use the pizza oven. This should have been in the listing.
This is a very nice property but the fees and nightly cost are too high. We had 2 families but the cost was still very steep.

Overall, the property is as advertised with a great view and amenities. The rooms and are large and plenty of spaces and TV. Location is great, very close to the Watauga River Park and original Mast General Store with a short 15 min drive to Boone.
Communication with the host was quick and consistent. We reported a couple issues that were present upon arrival and the host offered to have them fixed during our stay: 1) screen on the patio door was coming out of its frame 2) and patio fire pit had an eroding bottom (they were not urgent repairs for us so we declined).
Based on how nice the kitchen setup was with the amazing Wolf range/oven, I would have expected to have seen a better stocked kitchen. There are plenty of utensils to get by, but I found myself wanting spatulas and measuring utensils. They remind you in advance that you are responsible for your own salt/pepper/spices; there is a very limited supply.
Only complaint that I had was about inflexibility of reservation changes by the host company. We had a medical appointment that could not be rescheduled come up within days of our reservation being made, there was no flexibility to shift our dates by 1 day when property was available at the time (same number of nights just M-F instead of Tue-SA). We ended up having to pay for the extra night even though we left a day early. I understand their cancellation policies completely, but very unbending, so be warned.
The house was absolutely beautiful. Looked just like the listing. Comfortable beds. Great kitchen with lots of dishes and cooking accessories. Negatives were the lack of insulation between walls. You could hear absolutely everything. Caution to those bringing a baby like we did. Would help to have rugs throughout the house. The dryer was terrible. Took over five rounds in the dryer for our clothes to finally dry. Not the best for dogs. The house is on the top of a hill so the only flat land is the driveway. They limit the amount of towels, dish soap and trash bags so recommend bringing more. They did state that in the welcome email but I didn’t think the towels would be one per person. The huge windows were a big drawing point for us to choose this house. The blinds, however, were remote controlled so we were not able to lower them. After contacting the rental agency, they said they could send someone to lower them but they would have to stay lowered throughout our trip. The TV is located between the windows, so it was blinding to try and watch anything. We all wore sunglasses in the morning. The house is off an extremely windy road. Takes about 10 minutes to go less than 5 miles. Far from town so wasn’t the best for going back in forth.
Thank you so much for choosing and staying in our home. We are thrilled that you appeared to have enjoyed your stay and that the home met your vacation needs. We look forward to welcoming you back again to our home. Safe travels!
