Beautiful House, very creepy situation

My husband & I stay at the Outer Banks every year. This house was gorgeous, exactly like the pictures. The view is incredible. The situation that happened in the house was very off putting. We started to notice some of our personal belongings being moved in the house and outside of the house. We were weary, but kind of brushed it off. With being just my husband and I, we heard additional noises coming from downstairs. I was taking out the trash one morning, and looked out the window to see a barefoot man walking up our driveway. We hurried downstairs to find the man. He had suddenly disappeared. We found wet footprints leading up the ramp to the garage. And upon reentering the house, heard noises coming from the garage. We ultimately felt so uncomfortable thar we left 4 days into our 7 day stay. The house is amazing, but very strange we were not the only people occupying the house.

Brieann, We are pleased to hear you thought the home was gorgeous and accurately represented in the photos! We saw your review and did some reconnaissance to discover what might have been going on at the home during your stay. Per our investigation, this home has an agreement that the hot tub be cleaned mid-week each time it is rented for the convenience of our guests. The person who cleans the hot tub may have been required to move limited items out of the way on the deck in an effort to remove the hot tub cover and check the area. This would explain the watery footprints you saw and the noise you heard near the carport area. As for the garage area, this is locked electronically with only access provided to the owner. We confirmed that no code was entered during your stay and thus no way someone was in the area during your stay. We understand that without explanation these instances can be off-putting but wish you had communicated them to us during your stay so we could have provided you with peace of mind on your vacation.
