It was a lovely home and perfect for us and the kids. It was a pain to check in because i didnt screenshot the getting in instructions, and none of us had cell service in front of the house and had to drive to a different area to get instructions. We also brought stuff to BBQ and there was no BBQ nor cushions for the seats outside. The house was great, clean, the beds were comfortable and a great little garden to hang out and play with the kids. Lovely getaway place
The house was clean, in a nice quiet neighborhood. The host was very communicative and everything was as described. I would definitely stay there again, hopefully for a longer stay.
Great place to be for some relaxing days in the area. We enjoyed our holidays. Lovely house, we felt very comfortable. Thanks again to Brittany for caring, supporting and all the information
The house is charming, featuring three bedrooms and a great detached office/exercise space in a very convenient neighborhood. However, our 17-night stay didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the listing photos and previous reviews. While the essentials are provided, the property would benefit significantly from better maintenance and attention to detail.Outside, the gutters and side alley needed clearing of dead vegetation. This lack of upkeep extended indoors, where we noticed a musty odor upon arrival—likely exacerbated by a missing furnace air filter. The Vallejo winter was cold and rainy, and we were unable to open windows for ventilation, which made the indoor air feel stifling. The common area furniture was not very comfortable to sit in or lounge, and the kitchen felt cluttered with some unwashed items left behind. We also found a smoke detector tucked away in a drawer rather than installed, which is a safety concern. While the bedrooms are functional with comfortable beds, they lack a cozy, finished feel, and the linen closet was quite disorganized. Finally, the Wi-Fi was inconsistent, and the host, while courteous, took five days to remediate the problem. Individually, these are small issues, but collectively they impacted the quality of our long-term stay. Although the house is functional and would likely feel better in sunny weather, the combination of the humid winter and the lack of interior comfort made it difficult for us to feel at ease.
The house is located in a friendly neighborhood with neighbors who take an active interest and offer help in many ways PLUS they deliver dessert to the front door.
Our difficult situation was that the kitchen sink which plugged and rendered the kitchen unusable for four days of our month long stay and it took a cadre of plumbers to solve the problem.
But, the property manager was double great, offered a reasonable inconvenience discount and would wave part of our fee for a 2025 stay thereby, turning a bad situation into a double win for everyone.
Vallejo is a town in the process of discovering itself again. Two local restaurants you should frequent: Provisions in downtown and the Sardine Can by the Coast Guard Station.
And, a big plus is that from Vallejo seniors can ferry to SF for $4.60; an hour trip with a gorgeous Bay view.
