The Space:

The Buckeye Cabin is a cozy lakefront 1BR/1BA stay for up to two guests. Inside, you’ll find a kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and the everyday essentials for a comfortable mountain getaway.



Originally used as a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville, The Buckeye Cabin was relocated to Cashiers Lake and renovated in 2021. Its position at the lakefront edge of the cabin community gives it one of the property’s best features: a porch facing Cashiers Lake with an open view across the water.



Whether you’re planning waterfall hikes, a weekend of dining and shopping in Cashiers, or a quieter mountain break, The Buckeye Cabin provides a comfortable place to unwind beside the lake.



Guest Access:

You’ll have The Buckeye Cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking. Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, a communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and outdoor sink and fish-cleaning station.



The cabin’s lake-facing porch offers a private place to enjoy morning coffee or unwind at the end of the day. The shared gazebo also provides a comfortable spot for reading, conversation, and taking in the lake views.



The Neighborhood:

The Buckeye Cabin is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small lakefront cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Shops, restaurants, coffee, and other local favorites are within easy walking distance. Waterfalls, hiking trails, scenic drives, Highlands, and other mountain destinations are best reached by car.



Getting Around:

Free parking is available on-site. You can walk to several parts of central Cashiers, but a car is recommended for exploring the surrounding mountains and nearby destinations.

The Buckeye Cabin has a lakefront setting and a porch facing Cashiers Lake and is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You’ll have your own private cabin and porch, but neighboring cabins and shared outdoor spaces are nearby. Adorable cabin with a covered deck overlooking the lake. Lots of charm and perfect for a couple’s getaway. Very comfortable bedding. Walking distance to Cashiers Crossroads, so also a great location. Highly recommend it!

Buckeye In NC... cashiers Cabin.

Wanting a five day getaway to Cashiers NC I looked through VRBO (and other offerings) and found a cluster of small cabins walkable to central Cashiers. The property manager was very friendly and helpful along with the Cabin being as described, easy check-in, clean and appropriately stocked. I anticipate returning to this Cabin group in the future.

Adorable

such a cute place, small, quaint, perfect for several days. We stayed in the cabin facing the lake. I like it best since it had the covered porch that we enjoyed for some afternoon showers. Need to stock just a little better with cooking pans etc.. Didn't have a skillet but went and bought one and left it. Also, wished there had been a grill on the property. Manager was really nice and accommodating. highly recommend.

Cozy Cabin on the Lake

I have owned a house in Cashiers for 20 years, but recently sold it and have started renting. This property represented arguably the best value I've gotten from a number of rental properties in the area. Its only one big room, but was super cozy, nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. It also sits on Cashiers Lake, which unfortunately was drained for work on the lake, but is ordinarily full and beautiful. The location, walking distance to the crossroads, is unbeatable. Only thing I'd recommend is bring a large cooler and ice because the fridge and freezer space is very limited in the kitchenette. Will stay here again I'm sure!
