Welcome to your perfect rustic cottage with a touch of chic here and there! From the living room and expansive deck on the top floor, you’ll enjoy Lake Ontario sunsets. It’s called the “Lake View Level,” and it has two bedrooms and a bathroom. If you need more space, the lower two levels are also available, with three more bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, sunroom, and 1.5 bathrooms.
All rooms come with new memory foam beds and linens, and there’s even boat dockage on-site. The house is on the eastern dune, with Sandy Pond at its back. You’re also welcome to walk the road and enjoy the sights.
Local attractions include the Elms Golf Course and restaurant, Pond Pit BBQ, Wayside Inn, Pulaski, Sackets Harbor, and Henderson Harbor.
A word of warning: the house doesn’t have air conditioning, so this isn’t the place for you if you need to stay cool inside. It's also not in a large populated area. However, if you like quiet, lake breezes and the sound of waves, you’re the right guest. Just be prepared for the occasional mosquito or bug fight while you’re having a fire at night.
There are four levels to the house, with lots of stairs inside and out. Renters with physical limitations should be aware of this. Lake access is also difficult for those with limitations. Please message me with any concerns you might have.

We rented this property for 3 nights to explore that region of NY. It is a large property, and very comfortable with all the trimmings. The host was easy to work with.
This house was exceptionally special. It had many folds and nooks to escape to at anytime. If you are looking for a chill place to catch one day different than the last weather drama and breathtaking sunsets and listening to the waves (rather than Calm app) lull you to sleep, book here!!

We are so glad you found the property met your expectations. Thank you!
A comfy house that makes you feel relaxed and at home. We had beautiful weather with the windows open, Fresh air and able to hear the waves. The 2 kitchens were a big bonus for us. Lake access was great for our kayaks and paddle boards. The host was attentive and had bottled water for us and fans in every room . We highly recommend the house.
This was the most unique, quirky camp we ever rented. Our granddaughters call it Hogwarts and swear the staircases move. Everyone in our large party thoroughly enjoyed the camp. I highly recommend it, the lakeview is spectacular.

Thanks Pat! We hope you come back next year! We’ve been looking for a camp name and your granddaughters are in the running for the naming.
All the best, Tom
The house is rustic and quirky, but spaciuos and comfortable. It was perfect for a relaxing vacation, that even the dog felt right at home. From the beautiful sunrises over the front pond to the sunsets in the back over the lake, every room has a view. Lake access was a bit challenging, but was a great spot for the kids and dog to swim since the shallow water went way out. Next time we'll bring the kayaks to get in some fishing.
Best of both worlds, lakeside beach on one side of the house, calm bay on the other. Loved the deck overlooking the lake, really enjoyed the different levels of the house. Great time swimming with the kids, gravel beach area turned to pure sand six feet off the beach, stayed shallow out to 200 ft or so offshore. House had plenty of room, loved having the choice of two complete kitchens and living rooms, as well as two masters. Great spot, quiet, dead end road, and very private up on the deck area. Nice place to ride bikes.
My family and I enjoyed our stay- the house is older, with character, but with updated features (new kitchen, new mattresses) and very clean. The lakeside deck to the side of the house was a great spot and the dock on the pond side was the perfect place to launch our kayaks. Most importantly, the multiple floors and layout meant that as a family of 10, we all had space to sleep when we wanted without hearing each other’s noise- even those on the floor right above the downstairs kitchen. We will be back!
Very nice....AMAZING BREEZE!!! The only thing i would change is to have a gate at the top of the steps on the deck and at the path going to the lake. I have 6 kids, my youngest is 3 years old and very adventurous....he loved trying to escape down both "mountains"

Marie,
Great idea! We’ll do one like on the other side of the deck.
Hope to see you next year!

My husband and I brought our children to this location for the 2024 solar eclipse. This location and home provides unbelievable sunrises and sunsets ! The views are amazing from all directions and provided us with a spectacular family solar eclipse experience that we had been planning and anticipating for a few years.
The owner and property manager were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we might have had. Our 3 and 5 year old enjoyed “rock beach “ as well as running in the front yard, pretending to fish by the pond, scootering on the quiet dirt roads, chatting with neighbors and their dogs walking by and fires at night with s’mores. Although we could have head to Watertown or Syracuse for indoor or outdoor kid playgrounds, we never ventured too far and just immersed ourselves in the beautiful nature this location had to offer.

We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the lake. We hope you’ll come again. All the best!
Wonderful and spacious place for a family get together!
Perfectly located for our needs - between Oswego and Canada. Was a little skeptical upon renting as there had been no reviews yet, but I can say without a doubt we were pleasantly surprised by this very spacious home. Was initially concerned there was no AC as it was extremely humid when we arrived. But Tom had rooms stocked with fans, and the cool nights and lake breeze made AC unnecessary. Lots of stairs, be prepared. Well stocked with everything we needed - two kitchens, too! Tom the property manager was always available for our needs with sage advice on the surrounding areas and things to do. Plenty to do here - swim in the lake (temperatures were perfect!). Plenty of places for fishing. Marinas nearby for boat rentals. The description of the property was spot on, and we were not disappointed at all in this lakefront house. Would highly recommend it to anyone with a large crowd to house for family fun and exploring of the area. Thousand Islands nearby - a must see place if you've never been. We are already contemplating our next visit and hope this place will be available when we come back. The location was perfect for our needs. If you want to experience upstate NY, Lake Ontario ane the Thousand Islands, you won't go wrong renting this house!

Not as expected
Cons: We were sadly disappointed with the condition of the property. The inside of the home was not very clean. There were spider webs in the cabinets, spiders, bugs and ants throughout the house. The third floor was closed off and this was scary to some of my children. The house smelled of mold/mildew. It was very difficult to access the lake. There was a camera outside on the deck that was not listed in the property listing. We ended up leaving after 3 nights (suppose to stay 7 nights) due to the mold/mildew triggering my son’s allergies and asthma and the poor conditions of the house. There is no AC and the house would get warm, even with the windows open, during the day.
Pros: the manager, Tom, was very responsive and refunded us for the nights we didn’t stay. He took our concerns seriously and said he would have the house inspected and cleaned. One day this home will be an amazing vacation rental with a spectacular view of Lake Ontario.

Hi Amanda,
As you mentioned from my email, we had the cleaners come in right after your departure.
During the inspection, which one of the owners was present, we found some cobwebs, but overall, there were no significant issues throughout the house. The air did feel a little damp, likely due to the several days of heavy rain. However, the weather improved significantly, and when I visited on Wednesday to open the windows, the house was fine and then well-ventilated by the afternoon. There were no detectable mold or mildew smells before or during that time. You were the first renter to experience this issue, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it caused. As you mentioned, I issued a refund for your troubles.
Regarding air conditioning, we do not list it as an amenity. We did however update our property description to clarify that the house does not have A/C. Additionally, we’ve included a note that the lake access is not suitable for individuals with certain physical limitations. You are correct that there is a video camera outside pointing at the lake. It use to be shared with renters so they can keep their eye on the lake while not upstair or on the deck. Sadly, it doesn’t work anymore.
I genuinely wish you had reached out before your stay to discuss any concerns such as asthma, A/C, or other issues. Since we are pet-friendly, I might have advised that the house may not be the best fit, as I try to understand what our guests are looking for.
Once again, you are the only renters who have had a less than wonderful experience, I only wished you had stayed because the weather was exceptional for the rest of the week and I believe you would have enjoyed it as much as all our previous renters have.
All the best in your future adventures.
Tom
