Nice getaway
The house is secluded on a nice side road, very close to the beach, surrounded by gardens and trees. Nice porches, with a perfect view upstairs of the sky. We stayed during a full moon, and you could see it perfectly from the upstairs deck. There is also a park up the road to a little sanctuary, lots of birds, and we kayaked around that. Not a ton of traffic, overall nice spot to stay.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to get on the water which makes it even better! If you catch the moon as it moves over the lake and then sets on the lake, the shimmer off the water is really cool.

This is a very clean A-frame cottage. There was plenty of room for the three of us. My son is 11 and he absolutely loved the cottage! We went kayaking and swimming every day. The hosts, Scott and Robin, were great to work with. We will be booking with these hosts again!
We spent the whole weekend at the beach and were able to walk back and forth for lunch or a nap. There were food options near by so we didn’t have to cook a thing besides popcorn!
We had a great extended weekend. Did it all Beach, Swim, fish and fires. It was a great place, great location and Scott was easy to deal with. Will definitely go back.
This was the best accommodation that I have stayed at in the Lake Ontario region. The house was clean, plenty of furniture, cooking & plate ware. Four guys for a week usually gets right in small cabins but we had plenty of space. The owner is very responsive if you need anything. Thank you for the stay and we will definitely be back next year.
Communication with Scott was easy and he was very kind being flexible with having friends join for an additional fee. This house is less than a 5 minute walk to a private neighborhood beach. Neighbors were friendly, beach was beyond amazing. The house itself was clean and had everything we needed. The furniture was not the most comfortable but we balanced our time at the beach as much as we could in mid September.
Scott is a very pleasant. Wonderful location. Second time renting this property. Not on the water but a short walk to a private beach. Quiet neighborhood. House has all the necessities. A little dated but clean, tidy and perfect to enjoy North Country and Lake Ontario. We had an enjoyable stay.
My family and I enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was a cozy ambient. The private beach was great for the kids.
Things that could be improved:
1. Wifi appeared spotty and only 2G seemed to work
2. A traditional shower is better, however, as water is scarce then may be the only option.
Personal preference:
1. Trim significantly or cut down front trees and bushes as they seem to make the cottage secluded

Very accommodating and Cozy Camp
We (5 adults and 1 child) stayed here for 4 days. The camp has all amenities you need, is very roomy, has nice lower and upper deck. Everyone had their own space. We ran out of water while staying here, but Scott was very accommodating and came right over to hook up more water. The ONLY issue I have is the photos of the water/beach area. There is NO SAND BEACH to speak of. It IS totally COVERED IN ROCKS. We have vacationed here in the past, and when we DID, it was a beautiful sandy beach, just like the photos, again that was a long time ago. If a sandy beach is not important to you, this is a great place to stay. We should have checked to make sure the sand was still there before we rented, as it had been 16 years since we have been there. There is a state park, Southwick Beach, which is about 20 minute drive, which has a beautiful beach, playground, showers etc, if this is important to you. We DID go there and it was nice.

Darlene,
June 2015 had the highest Lake Ontario water level increase in its over 100 year history of record keeping due to the record June rain and winter snow runoff. You rented right after that, unfortunately. But, with an additional 100 yard walk, there was access to the stretch of 1.5 mile beach that was plentiful. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but sometimes Mother Nature wins.

Great Value and Beach
This property provides a lot for the money. To begin, Scott is a gem, when we arrived he went out of his way to make us feel at home. As Canadians we wanted our hockey and he spent the better part of half an hour with a wrench up on the roof trying to get the antenna to pick up a station from across the lake. He also took us for the minute walk to show us the beach. And what a beach!! I have never experienced such a wide expanse of sand on fresh water – you think you are at the ocean. Also the community has largely avoided placing their cottages too close to the water so there is the feeling of a natural setting. Oh yes, the sunsets are spectacular. The cottage is tickety-boo clean and tidy and is nicely equipped. It was a surprise to bring the blankets from our own bed – made us feel very much at home. Afeature is the two decks plus balcony where one can find their choice of sun or shade any time of the day. Also the surrounding mature trees lend a nice touch. We will be back!!

About the host
Hosted by Scott Tripoli
I grew up spending summer weekends at our family camp (cottage) and built my own place a few doors down. I bought the A Frame next door in 2011 so I take excellent care of the place.
Why they chose this property
Fairly secluded as it is surrounded by trees with nice garden area. Very comfortable and cute. TV gets NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox and other antennae stations, but no cable. Wireless internet at no cost.
What makes this property unique
The beach is the main attraction with 1.5 miles of walkable, sunset viewing beach with shallow water that gradually gets deeper, all sand.
