This retro-inspired cottage has classic beach vibes to unwind like the old days. Steps to the beach, and on the ocean side of the main road, everything is within a 5-minute walk, bars, restaurants, entertainment, fishing, surfing, groceries, confectionaries, parks, fresh seafood, etc. Enjoy the private outdoor bar with an on-demand ice machine! Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at the Knotty Cottage. Short walk to the beach, lots of amenities at the house, and close to several stores, restaurants and shops. We only used the car once to leave the island. The house and new owners were accommodating and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect getaway!

A few of us moms took a nice girls weekend away and really enjoyed being so close to the beach as well as walking distance to everything! Beds are cozy and the kitchen has everything you need!

Cozy and convenient!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Knotty Cottage! The house was clean and provided all the comforts of home including a well equipped kitchen. The beach is just a short walk away which is very appreciated on a hot day! Restaurants, stores, and the pier are also walkable. Mornings were fun drinking coffee on the front porch and watching people walk and drive by! We recommend providing more chairs and possibly a table, or allowing us to move the two bolted-down chairs that are there as morning dew dripped from the roof onto our heads. We also appreciated being able to communicate with the owner who checked in on us upon arrival. All in all, it was a very nice stay!

Perfect Little Cottage

This is the perfect little spot to get away. The location is convenient to everything, the cottage is cute and very thought out, and the access to the beach is a very short distance. We will return to this perfect little spot. The owners were very responsive and accommodating as well.

We had a great time! The two bedrooms are identical so going with another couple was no problem at all. There’s another room with bunkbeds but we didn’t utilize it. The kitchen was fully stacked with everything we needed in addition to the cutest appliances! The under deck was a great environment for our hang outs with a dart board, mini fridge / bar, and hanging chairs. Minutes from the beach and delicious dining! Never had to drive to get anything we needed for the whole weekend! We will be back for sure.

We had the BEST time at this house!!! It has EVERYTHING that you could need for an awesome beach trip. The layout is perfect. We really enjoyed the downstairs entertainment area. Definitely a 10 out of 10!!Will book this one again!!

Great stay in the heart of Surf City

House is absolutely adorable! Gives old school beach vibes but with updated bathrooms and every amenity you need. Literally just bring clothes! Beds were freshly made when we arrived, plenty of towels, a few beach towels, nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs, and we fell in love with the record player. Kitchen is well stocked but we never cooked because we could walk to all our favorites - Shaka Taco, Daddy Mac’s, and Sunrise Bagels is literally right across the street. I was worried that the area could be noisy due to commercial properties on each side, but it was not a problem at all. Beach access is nice and convenient. House is spotless! Host was responsive and helpful when I had a question checking in. We hope to be back!

Mini beach holiday

The Knotty Cottage is lovely in every way. The location is perfect. The beach and restaurants are a five minute walk. The cottage is very cozy and so clean. Everything seems new! The outdoor space is fun! We enjoyed all the games. We forgot our beach chairs, luckily the cottage has several. We will be returning to Surf City and The Knotty Cottage will be first on our list to check for availability.

Lovely Stay at the Knotty Cottage in Surf City

We recently stayed at the Knotty Cottage in Surf City, NC, and it was a delightful experience. The cottage is a charming blend of modern comfort and coastal charm.
