About this property
The Mountaineer - Gunnison
Welcome to The Mountaineer brand new on the market in May 2023! You'll be blown away by this home when you come to visit Gunnison, but especially Western State College. Conveniently located across the street on N Colorado. If you need extra space for your family and friends, this is the place. The main level has a large living room with a cozy electric fireplace, a large kitchen, and 1 bedroom with a queen bed and one full bath. Upstairs you'll find a guest bedroom with a queen bed, twin bunk bed and an attached full bathroom. The Very Large Master bedroom with King bed, couch, desk and a large full bath.
Off of the kitchen, the stairs take you downstairs to the basement level which has a great space to get away from the rest of the house and indulge in some separate time watching a movie. Great space for the kids as there are two bunk beds and one queen bed. This area shares its own full bath.
We allow this home to hold 12 guests! Are you getting the full picture of the space? If you need more room for a bigger party book The Mountaineer Apartment at the same time. It is located above the garage with its own alley entrance. Sorry, the garage is kept private for the owners, but there should be plenty of parking along the street out front.

Great house with plenty of space for everyone. Well appointed with everything you need for cooking and enjoying time with your friends and family after a day out on the town. It was also great that baby gates were provided, among other baby/kid friendly amenities.
Really enjoyed staying here so close to campus as my son could stop by after classes after we did our skiing up in CB. Felt like a home away from home.

Outstanding! This is exactly what we hope everyone feels like and expects. We hope you keep returning so you can truly make it your home away from home. I’m glad you had a place so close to the college so you could see your son more often
My two brothers & our spouses were in Gunnison for a family reunion. The house is so spacious & comfortable we all loved our stay!!It was close to downtown for shopping & dining. We took advantage of the great weather & walked a lot! We would definitely choose this property again:)
We needed a bigger rental in Gunnison for graduation weekend at Western Colorado University. The house was spacious enough for all 10 and had all the amenities for staying and cooking. Super convenient for getting around campus without having to drive.
Spacious house, well kept, well stocked with essentials. Convenient location to shops, restaurants, grocery stores. Fast communication with management. Would highly recommend.
The property was perfect for our family and friends. It was very clean with all the amenities. Very comfortable and Jenny was Awesome to deal with. Very prompt with getting back to us. Definitely planning another trip and will stay there again.
Very spacious home in walking distance to downtown. Everything was nice and clean as well! We really enjoyed walking downtown for breakfast and shopping. Be aware this and many other places do not have A/C so it can get warm in the summer. We used fans and kept windows open at night. We had a great trip overall!
I needed a place to make my son's wedding cake. This house was a perfect home for our group of 10. Lots of counter space for cooling cakes, walking distance to everything we needed.
Everything great except basement bedroom heat didn’t seem like it was controlable

Glad you had a good stay with us. The heat is controlled separately throughout the house. There is a nest thermostat down there. There are five thermostats in the house and three of those five are nests. Please next time let me know that you’re having difficulties and we can help you. Thank you for being a good guest.
We booked the Mountaineer for the Mountaineers' season opening football game in the newly renovated Mountaineer Bowl. It was the perfect HQ including the big screen for watching college football all day leading up to the Western game. Mountaineers 38, Midwestern State 34!
The Mountaineer was perfect for our needs as we were in Gunnison for my Daughter's wedding. There was plenty of room! Gates to keep the toddler off the stairs was a bonus! As was the toy box. :-) It was the perfect place for my daughter to get dressed for her special day and close to campus where the reception was held. My only request would be a container for recyclables. We will definitely book this house again if the need for multiple bedrooms is needed in Gunnison.
Excellent property, well-maintained with spacious rooms and lots of beds, huge master suite, almost as nice as mine at home.........three levels and plenty of room. Excellent and clean bathrooms. There is no AC, which is typical in Gunnison, but it can get hot there in summer. At night temps drop so open windows solves the problem. Had good access to washer and dryer. Parking on the street is plentiful. There's a dedicated lane painted in the street for wide area parking in front.
Good location. Did not like 11pm fireworks 2 nights. No plastic bags for trash and trash can had really bad smell. Liked being within walking distance of Main Street and park.
We were staying in Gunnison for just under a week while my 16 year old attended a short course at Western Colorado. The house was perfectly relaxing or walking to town for those staying local, highly functional for gearing up for those of us going hiking or fishing around sunny Gunny, and PERFECT for my son going back and forth to his class (he could come home for lunch!)
We really just needed a functional house, and this house ended up being that, and also much more -- making breakfast, movie nights, and overall a happy retreat for a wonderful (almost) week out west.
If you are looking to stay in the Gunnison area with a large group, then i recommend this property. The house was nice, clean, and fully accommodating. The kitchen was stocked with anything you need to cook and serve your own meals. Easy to find and walking distance to the park and the cutest downtown ever! We stayed during the 4th of July week and we were able to watch the fireworks show right from the house without going anywhere. I would definitely recommend staying here. When we were making our grocery list we decided to check for propane on the grill outside. The propane tank was missing. A quick text to the owner and a propane tank was delivered.
