Clean, quiet, comfortable, and convenient. Attention to the small details made our stay great! Adding televisions to the bedrooms would be a great addition to a wonderful vacation home.

Beautiful home and wonderfully appointed in every sense. John responded to questions promptly and professionally on every occasion. This was a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay and trip. We highly recommend the property and look forward to returning.
Excellent overall stay! Here is what we found excellent:- location- newness and cleanliness- lux furniture including beds- great space for everyone - superb bathrooms- heated garage - key feature if u ski and car is full of gear- gourmet kitchen with lux details and equipment - great neighborhood to walk in- not at 10,000 feet so u could sleep better and much less altitude issues- big house really with so much space- John, the host was responsive and check in and out were so easy and he didn't give you 1 million things to do before checking out even though we left the place pretty clean just because we try to be respectful
Please don’t wait to book this beautiful property!! We stayed two nights here for Western’s Homecoming weekend, and it was perfect! The home is gorgeous with beautiful local decor and artwork. The living room and common areas are so comfy that it was almost impossible to get off the extra roomie recliner couches when it was time for bed. The bedrooms were perfectly sized with plenty of closet space and the most comfortable beds imaginable. The home was immaculately clean, and had really every amenity you can think of, from hair and body products in the showers to ziplock baggies in the closet, as well as stadium seats for the football game we attended (so helpful, since it was pouring rain)! The hosts were so friendly and amazing communicators who made us feel so welcome in their property. We will absolutely be back to stay here again. Thank you, John and Sara!

About the host
Hosted by John Sommer
My wife and I are Texans and have dreamed of having our mountain home for years. We finally realized our dream and love sharing it with others. We love the outdoors biking, hiking and skiing. Our goal is to share the mountain lifestyle by providing accommodations that are high quality, stress free and leave everyone with excitement to return on their next visit.
Why they chose this property
The VanTuyl neighborhood is awesome! Scenery abounds with the cliffs nearby and WCU mountain backdrop out the front door. You can walk to Main St. for dinner or bike to the grocery store. The Gunnison River is just down the street for launching kayaks, fishing or just reading a book on the pebble beach. Our street is lively with kids at play and kind neighbors. The RTA bus stop to CB is also the last pickup out of Gunnison and the first drop-off returning only a 5-min walk from our house. It doesn’t get better than that!
What makes this property unique
Worry-free and loaded with amenities. We do not want our guests to feel like they are in someone’s old house. We have high quality bedding & linens in spacious rooms; leather reclining sofas and large Smart TV in the living room. A fully stocked kitchen with a gas range and island for hosting and food prep. Coffee lovers can enjoy fresh ground beans with our burr grinder and can choose conventional or French press options. For small kids, our front yard is enclosed for no-worries playtime, cabinets have child-proofing options and wall plugs are covered at low levels. The game room provides a separate space as well for entertainment and the dedicated work space is perfect for the travelling professional. Finally the garage is spacious to fit 1 vehicle and room for storing bikes, ski’s, etc. It is heated for a comfortable load in/out during the winter.
