THE PROPERTY IS REFLECTING OUR MILD CARMEL WEATHER, AND WITH THE COZY, ELECTRIC FIREPLACE UPSTAIRS TO TAKE THE CHILL OFF IF THERE IS ONE, AIR CONDITIONING AND FANS UPSTAIRS AND DOWN IF IT IS WARM, AND WITH CONTINUING SPECTACULAR SUNSETS, IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO VISIT.

Whale watch, bird watch, and take in ocean views surrounded by the ambiance of this charming country cottage. Only minutes to Carmel and Point Lobos State Reserve; approximately 30 minutes to Big Sur.

Find comfort in the beautifully- appointed, cozy and spacious interior with hard wood floors, open beam ceilings and abundant natural light. French doors open to the dramatic ocean views and wrap around deck with BBQ and patio table for al fresco dining. This unique two-story guest cottage offers a memorable getaway for a couple, a solo traveler or the small family.

A fully equipped kitchen, with adjoining living and ocean-view dining area completes the open floor plan on the first level. A separate and private bath is off entry. Upstairs, our guests will find another open and spacious level with endless views of the Pacific from the king bed and daybed (converts to king) and from the comfortable seating areas perfect for taking in views, watching flat screen tv, lounging on comfortable couch and chairs, game table for entertainment.

This was very last minute reservation made due to a problem with an existing reservation at a nearby hotel. We contacted Judy and she was very helpful in allowing us to stay in her beautiful cottage for four days. She went to great lengths to assure our cottage was clean and met with her very high standards with very short notice. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Judy for going the extra mile and making our stay so enjoyable.

Perfect location for a quiet getaway that is still close enough to everything. Owner is super accommodating and made the stay enjoyable. The pictures don’t do it justice on how truly impeccable this place is maintained. Unlike some of the other VRBO properties I’ve stayed at where the pictures make the property seem better than it truly is, this place is even better and the pictures don’t do it justice. Will be back again for sure!

Big Sur/Carmel Spring Break

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Ocean View French Country Cottage. Very cozy and charming cottage, and the location was ideal to spend time exploring Big Sur, Carmel, Pebble Beach and Monterey. We will definitely be recommending this spot to friends and would stay again if we are in the area.

Perfect spot to explore Big Sur & Carmel-By-the-Sea

The views from this home cannot be beat! We enjoyed sunset views over the ocean. The cabin is well equipped and is in a quiet and private setting. It is a great location for exploring Big Sur, Carmel-By-the-Sea, Point Lobos, and Monterey. The host was kind and responsive. We loved our stay!

Beautiful Cottage above the sea

We had an amazing stay at this french cottage! It was truly a beautiful space and you can’t beat the view. It is very cozy and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Judy was very friendly and accommodating as well. It’s a perfect location that is close to all the great places to explore, we can’t wait to come back and visit!

Beyond expectations

The cottage, the property, the location, the owner (Judy) -- all were wonderful. We were there 6 nights and wished we could stay many more. Many beautiful hikes nearby, Carmel restaurants and shops within a few minutes drive, incredible night skies -- and more. You'll be lucky to stay here.

California Trip

The cottage was very comfortable with everything needed to make our trip enjoyable. Gorgeous sunsets with a very comfortable bed. All paper products, laundry detergent and even a pass to access state parks are provided. Judy is the perfect host, very attentive and graciously extended our stay when we had issues with our flights. If you enjoy hiking be sure to check out the Soberanes Canyon Trail at Garrapata State Park.

Our California Getaway

My husband and I were joined by our adult kids for an amazing week exploring Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey . This cottage was the most perfect place to land after all our adventures. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with everything we needed, the beds so comfortable and the setting beautiful. I hope we can come again!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Judy’s cottage. Very spacious with well-equipped kitchen and gorgeous water views from both levels. The king bed was exceptionally comfortable. Judy was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Judy's place. She communicated with us about check-in and also checked in with us to see if we needed anything, but respected our space and privacy. Location is perfect for exploring Monterrey and Big Sur. Very quiet and beautiful neighborhood with grocery stores, shopping and restaurants less than 10 minutes away. Great ocean view from the upstairs bedroom windows. The view of the ocean is through the trees on the front porch. This is one of those rare STR that really feel like you're in someone's home, not a sterile bland rental. It is warm and cozy and very well stocked with everything you need. No "starter" sets :) I highly recommend staying at Judy's place if you need a home base while exploring the Carmel/Big Sure/Monterrey area!

This lovely cottage is just minutes away from the offerings of Carmel-by-the-Sea but we enjoy the tranquility and beautiful ocean views in the Carmel Highlands even more! Judy has thoughtfully provided everything you need for an enjoyable stay and you, too, will want to return again and again!

The place was in a fantastic location for everything we went to do. It was just lovely! We knew the only bathroom was downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs when we booked it. That was not a problem at all! We would definitely stay here again!

Charming cottage with partial ocean view, on lovely grounds. Central to both Carmel and Big Sur. We loved it! Everything was perfect! Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Comfy bed and nice balcony to sit out on. We never got to meet our host, but she was quick to reply to any questions.

Point of View is an adorable property

My friend and I came to Carmel to look at art. The property was just as cute as the photos make out. We had a lovely time and we’re able to drive to Carmel by the Sea in just a few minutes. Judy is very helpful even providing a Safeway savings card and a state park pass!

Beautiful location, kind owner

I don't think the setting could be more gorgeous. Out of one set of windows in the loft, there is the Pacific Ocean, and out of the other set of windows, mountains. The home is surrounded by beautiful flowers and is so peaceful and grounding. The location is perfect. There is a nice grocery store nearby (Safeway) and many food options. The cottage is very close to Point Lobos, and a short drive into Monterey and Big Sur. The owner is kind and accommodating. We would love to stay here again.

Spectacular location and view!

This property was perfect! The owner was very communicative and helpful from the beginning and her space was perfect for us. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The property and views, on both floors, were spectacular! We got to see whales spouting and hear the ocean crashing! I loved the location being a bit out of town. We hope to stay again when we return to Carmel. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space with us!

Carmel Highlands Cottage

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. What a great place! It’s perfectly located close enough to Monterey that it isn’t a hassle and already on the way the numerous beaches and state parks that we visited. Size of house was perfect because we want to be around each other but property also has enough outdoor spaces if you want to get away for a while. Only wish there was another half bath but that wasn’t the end of the world. Great host and wonderful place. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous view and convenient

My family and I loved staying at this comfortable barn style home with gorgeous views. It was fun to drive up and down the mountain and extremely convenient to all things in and around Carmel and Monterey. My daughters (ages 7 and 9) had plenty of space on the extra bed with trundle. Another nice perk was the washer and dryer with detergent provided by the host! The beds were comfy with nice linens. We loved opening the upstairs windows each night to take in the breeze and sleep to the sound of ocean waves. A great stay!

We moved to Carmel in 1964 and never turned back. We love our home in this special place we call Paradise. We brought up our four daughters here and moved to the Highlands twenty-five years ago to enjoy the magnificent ocean views and serenity. My husband is a writer and I'm a Coach for families of children with special educational needs. We enjoy the arts and fine dining found within minutes of our home. We walk daily in our neighborhood and are always inspired by the natural surroundings of the beautiful Carmel Highlands. Our daughters and some of our grandchildren live nearby. They stayed in this small, quaint, artistic community to enjoy the friendly ambiance and the many outdoor activities the Central Coast offers. One of our daughters and her husband have a sailboat, where they enjoy day sailing and whale watching on the Monterey Bay. From every visitor's perspective, our little corner of the world beckons vacationers to return again and again.
