Near the Androscoggin River, you can launch your kayak or boat, fish, ice fish or check out the newly restored walking bridge and see the views on both sides of the river!
The bike and walking path runs right along the river for about 4 miles and gives you a little bit of history along the way. Check out the local theater & cinema scene with live theater from the Maine State Music Theater, Theater Project, Frontier Cafe and the Evening Star.
The mall park downtown offers free ice skating in the winter and a wonderful mix of festivals, outdoor markets and concerts all summer long.
Brunswick is well known for its variety of restaurants, shops, bars, live music, antiques, boutiques and galleries. Walk the beautiful campus of Ivy League Bowdoin College, and check out their Museum of Art and the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum.
Not too far from the center you'll find several beaches, shopping malls & plazas, golf, scenic drives, bowling, camping, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and much more.
It's an absolute must to drive out to the Harpswell Islands, home to many of the local Fishermen. You'll find breathtaking views, wonderful restaurants, fresh seafood, little hidden beaches, Land's End look-out and the Giant Staircase to name a few.
Sip cocktails and soak in the sun on the deck of Cook's Lobster House on Bailey Island, nestled on a little peninsula-sand bar surrounded by water and watch the boats come in with their local catch delivered fresh to the restaurant!
In the other direction you can follow scenic Route 1 up the coast a bit and check out all the little villages along the way, or plan a day at Popham Beach State Park & Fort Popham or Reid State Park, two beautiful beaches on the open Atlantic Ocean.
