BARTERS ISLAND:
Located on a swivel bridge accessible island, the cottage is set back from the road, and is an 8 min walk from the “hidden gem” known as Porter Preserve/Roberts Wharf, the Trevett Country Store (coffee, breakfasts sandwiches, and lobster rolls), and the Mill Brook Lobster Company (established in the 1900s)
FUN ADVENTURES:
Hang at the house and start your day by opening the large French doors to let in the forrest/sea air and enjoy breakfast and espresso/coffee, from the chef’s kitchen.
Spend the afternoon biking around Barters Island, then head over to the public boat launch (2min down the road) for a dip, cast or paddle. You can also go for a ride down the road to the Boothbay Land Trust for more coastal serenity and nature trails. Make sure to visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for spectacular blooms and views of seasonal habitats in all their glory!
Take a short 8min. drive to Boothbay Harbor where there is shopping, restaurants, and all the local summer activities such as Windjammer days! Once you are done exploring, come back to the 20x20 front deck and enjoy the endless Maine nights, fire pit, propane grill or get cozy on the couch, stream movies, read a book sitting on the plush armchair or chaise.
AMENITIES:
The cottage is air conditioned, has a stackable washer and dryer, a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, toaster, large fridge, induction cooktop and oven, teapot (tea provided), Keurig machine, Nespresso machine (coffee provided), a living room with a 40” SmartTV, ironing board/iron; 400MB+ download and 300MB+ upload wireless mesh Internet (Wi-Fi), forced air, heat pump air conditioning, propane grill, fire pit, full linens, bath and beach towels, board games, lobster pot and crackers, all cooking and baking utensils, USB plugs/outlets through the cottage. Compact drop leaf table and chairs are tucked away to allow for open concept living but easily setup for dining inside.
COTTAGE OVERVIEW:
Professional and modern-rustic open concept vacationing with many amenities so that you can enjoy the space and surroundings. The cottage was built in 2021 with meticulous woodwork and metal smithing. Beechwood, hickory, and mahogany finishes throughout with a locally crafted spiral staircase that leads to the loft, and forged accents around the bar seating area.

About the host
Hosted by Jenn and Jake

Originally from Gilford, NH and Boston, MA, we moved to Maine in 2014 to reset our advertising agency clocks and get closer to the outdoors and especially the ocean.
Why they chose this property
This is the view and the serenity of Maine not a lot of people get to enjoy on vacation. The local flavor, the deep woods and ocean nestled together, all within walking distance with tourists spots a short drive. Light a fire, BBQ, go for a hike, and eat a lobster roll.
What makes this property unique
It’s just far enough away from the hustle and noise of the harbor to deliver a unique, modern experience of the Maine woods.
