Thank you for your interest in our coastal home in Mid-Coast Maine. We are excited to share this dreamy island spot with you. Come visit our cottage on a cove with nature and sea surrounding you.

No boat is required to reach Barter’s Island...just drive your vehicle across the small swing drawbridge by the country store. Once you are here, you can enjoy cocktails on the deck, kayak off the dock when the tide is in, or roast s'mores by the fire pit. If you are looking for more excitement or adventure, it is available just 10 minutes away in Boothbay Harbor where you will find shopping, fine dining, and boat trips. Even closer, by car or kayak, is the stunning setting of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.

Beautiful Stay!

This property was amazingly beautiful! We enjoyed watching the birds every morning from the expansive picture windows that look out over the water! The beds were comfy, property had everything you needed and even included two fire pits and kayaks you could use. Thanks for sharing your breathtaking piece of heaven with us!

Lovely home in Trevett

This is our second year staying at this wonderful house in Maine. It was a bit warmer this year but we enjoyed it despite that. The house whas a ton of light and looks out on a peaceful cove. Even though Boothbay is close it seems like you are a world away from it because of the location. We hope to stay here again next year.

Beautiful Boothbay

Very well stocked. Plenty of space. Nicely furnished. Great views. Had everything we needed. Separate spaces, living room & other sitting area. You Tube tv in LR worked well. However, the tv in the other sitting area didnt have you tube tv. We couldnt figure out how to watch tv on it. Orherwuse, very nice place. Recommend it.

Annual trip to Boothbay

Always enjoy our visits to Maine. We've been going for about 20 years, and have stayed at a few different places over that period of time! The weather is always different each year, but enjoyable.

Quiet tidal cove

The property was just as described. Kayaking around the cove was great with one-of-a-kind views. Location was close enough to town for easy day trips. Fantastic food and great people at the local Trevett store at island entrance. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and the host was very responsive and helpful.

A peaceful, convenient setting for a great Maine experience

This is a scenic, peaceful setting in a quiet location that is still incredibly convenient to all of Boothbay's attractions. Our party of seven was comfortable and enjoyed kayaking and sitting on the deck to enjoy the harbor breezes. The cottage is an easy drive from downtown Boothbay and not far from Wiscasset. We enjoyed trying most of the local ice cream shops. A grocery store and Walgreens are nearby, which was fortunate as a few of us were under the weather. Were it not for a few plumbing problems, we would give it a perfect score. The owners, Jennifer and Seth, were extremely responsive and did all they could to address the plumbing issues. Overall, I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a great Boothbay experience.

Waterfront beauty!

Our family all enjoyed this beautiful waterfront home for the week we were there! It is so peaceful and relaxing. Every morning my husband and I sat on the back porch and enjoyed our coffee. Our adult kids loved kayaking, reading on the porch, swimming from the dock, and crabbing. This was a great location. We went to Boothbay Harbor several times and The Maine Botanical Gardens right down the road was fun! Pemaquid Point Lighthouse was really great too. We had no problems or issues. Everything was wonderful.

Secluded slice of a Tidal Miracle.

Just a perfect getaway. Very well maintained home with a few handy man quirks. Power went out and the Generac generator kicked right on. House is well stocked, clean and perfectly situated for a secluded trip. I would mention that you have to walk thru one bedroom ( attic dormer) to get to the forth bedroom. And there is no door between the two just a curtain. Which might be an issue if it was all couples. Overall this was a perfect getaway. Loved the location. The kayaks were great ( better pay attention to the tide) and we really enjoyed the fire pit. Thanks for sharing your little paradise with us.

Perfect

The house is beautiful, well maintained and stocked with everything you could need. The location is quiet and remote yet only 10 minutes away from conveniences and Boothbay Harbor. We kayaked every day. The river was peaceful and beautiful. Boothbay Harbor had many good restaurants and shops. We took a Puffin cruise and watched the Windjammers come to dock. I learned how to play chess thanks to the nice set up with the gorgeous view they had at the house 😊. Morning coffee on the back deck enjoying the view and smell of the wild roses and salt water air was a great way to start each day. Jen and Seth were great hosts and easy to communicate with. They even left us Italian ice and beer as a nice welcoming gift. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Had a wonderful 3 weeks on Barters Island

From the moment you pull up to this house, you will captivated by the view of the cove and the Back River. Had some beautiful afternoons reading and relaxing on the dock, with a cool breeze to make the humidity more bearable. The cove is a great spot to kayak too. The house has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is well stocked for all of your cooking needs. The house is very clean and well kept. The owners, Jennifer & Seth are very quick to answer your questions or deal with any issues that you may have during your stay. The patio on the side of the house is a great spot to have a bbq dinner, and later make a fire in the firepit and have s'mores. The location on Barters Island is very quiet and in 10 minutes you can be in Boothbay Harbor with its many restaurants, shopping, etc..If you like craft beer and pizza the Boothbay Craft Brewery is a must! There is also a General Store about a mile from the house which is nice to walk to for breakfast/lunch. There are also many activities that you can do right from the Harbor. Our favorites are the ferry to Monhegan Island and the Cabbage Island. If I ever book another trip to this area I will absolutely book this house!

Beautiful location! Check in/ door lock easy to use! WiFi good, kitchen well equipped. Beds were good. Master bathroom shower leeks, that should be addressed. Would prefer curtains on the windows in the living room and dining area.

Magical get away

Enjoyed our repeat stay at this charming waterfront cottage on tidal cove. You can walk out your front door and pop into a kayak. There is lots of day trips and hiking reserves in the area. We will be back.

Our stay was wonderful. Perfect family vacation spot. We loved the view, absolutely beautiful, enjoyed the private dock, availability of kayaks, grill, fire pit, outside sitting area. Fit the 6 of us well. House was clean and “homelike”, a home away from home. Would highly recommend staying here and want to plan a return stay.

Amazing vacation home

The house is wonderful, exactly as described, and a perfect space for our family while we visited the area! Great location, beautiful outside spaces to relax, and it had everything we needed plus lots more that were nice additions to our stay. It was super clean with comfortable beds and the communication from start to finish with the owners was awesome. We would absolutely recommend it and stay here again!

Perfect Location

The house is so peaceful and located in a very private, quiet area. Waking up every morning to such a beautiful view was something I'll always remember. The house was very comfortable and well stocked. Jennifer was always very responsive when we needed her. The only thing we could have used was a few more mirrors in the bathroom (such a petty request, but when my husband tried to shave it was a bit challenging). Overall, I can easily recommend staying at this lovely home. Wish I was still there.

3 week stay - I loved it!

I wanted to stay in Maine for 3 weeks - I chose this location so I could be sometimes by myself and sometimes with friends. From this location, there is a lot to do locally as well as within 1 hour drive if desired. About 40 minutes to nearest Amtrak station in Brunswick if friends are visiting. Locally - many preserves to walk, kayak/paddleboard at house, minutes to Boothbay Harbor - schooner and wildlife boats, restaurants. This house was great for me as it was not too big when I was by myself and the few guests I had were comfortable in the bedrooms and other small bathroom. It had everything we needed and, although we did minimal cooking, it had everything if you wanted to cook. Nice spaces outside and inside. At night, the stars are plentiful and it was just great to sit around the fire pit, look out onto the water and stare at the beautiful sky! The house was so comfortable for us it did not feel like we were staying in someone else's house, it felt like our home! Communication with owner was great and easy although we had no issues so it was mostly to send her thanks and a couple of pictures of the Northern Lights we were fortunate to see on our 2nd night there. Lovely home, do not hesitate to rent if you want an easy location with very close drives to so many wonderful things in Maine.

Lovely property

We all enjoyed our stay very much. The location is really beautiful and peaceful. Tried kayaking for the first time which was a fun experience. I love how the house sits on the cove. Inside it is open and full of light. We enjoyed sitting outside on both the front and back decks. We saw different birds and even a deer on the property behind the house. We already booked it for next summer!

Exactly what we were looking for.
