Such a pretty property. We could enjoy the woods (and did with a backyard campfire) and be at the water in minutes. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Our host, William, cheerily answered our questions. We would stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Grand Maria’s’ Cozy Pine getaway. The lodging was clean, cozy and very comfortable. Our hosts were responsive to us and everything about our stay was wonderful!
Really enjoyed staying at this property. We weren’t there very much but it’s located very close to grand Marias and we appreciated the hosts for making this a great visit.
This property was centrally located to many of the UP attractions we wanted to visit. It was clean, everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and everything was good.
Great communication with the owner. Very informative. Not far from the little town. Two small issues: The refrigerator could use a check up. Our drinks were not very cold. Relied on freezer to get them colder. Felt like we needed to whisper. Didn’t realize owner lived above. We weren’t there much except a rain day. Slept good and gathered lots of rocks down the road at the beach.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Cozy Pine. My favorite part was how quiet it was. Just down the hill is Lake Superior and the town is about a 2 minute drive or a really good walk. The accommodations were clean and welcoming and I loved being able to sit on the patio in the morning. Would recommend!
Very personable upstairs owner. Peaceful atmosphere. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room! Only downside was lack of good cell phone service and cleaning fee seemed excessive to me.
The Cozy Pine was the perfect launch/landing pad for our busy days exploring nature in Pictured Rocks and on the beach in Grand Marais. There were 4 of us, two adults and two children. Our host was responsive and helpful the small handful of times we reached out, but other than that we enjoyed our privacy. Check in was easy and the property wasn’t hard to find. I rated the location a 5 because it was the perfect distance between all the places we wanted to visit, but you really do need to bring everything you'll need with you, including a full spread of groceries! It comes with the territory and I have no complaints, but it is no exaggeration that this place is remote.
I'd stay again :)
The basement itself was fine however it had a musty odor and a loud dehumidifier. In the morning I let the owner know that there was a smell and that I would empty the dehumidifier hoping that would help. He responded that it had rained and the dehumidifier should be ran continuously. He also offered to empty it if I wanted. We left expecting to be back in the afternoon but did not arrive till later that night. At some point, the owner came into the basement and emptied the dehumidifier without letting me know. I felt extremely uncomfortable that night as did my children. While I appreciate the host emptying the water even though I told him I would do it, the lost of privacy and sleepless night trumped our experience.
Great location just a short drive to town and 10 miles to the Rocks on Lake Superior.
Upon arrival, we were early for check in, we were greeted by Joan and her faithful companion, Cocoa. Unit is a downstairs, private entry. A king bedroom, and a queen bedroom, off the living and dining room. Bunkbeds off the Dining Room, double bed is n bottom, but not in a separate bedroom. Has its own seating area with couch and chair. Another seating area in Living room with 1 TV. Smaller kitchen but very workable. Cute bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. Has a bathtub.
Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we had high winds and the power went out about 9 pm. No problem though. The unit had candles and Joan brought us another one. We also had battery lights/lanterns. Power came back on during the night.
Only 2 stores in town were open. No Restaurant’s were open yet. But that’s why we booked this place and brought our own food.
We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back.
Thank You Joan for your hospitality.
The location was right where we wanted to explore and hike. Property was easy to find and just as it was shown on the VRBO site. We have never stayed where the host lived on site, but it was very quiet for us being in the basement level of their home. Unit was cleanly and comfortable.
Great place to base your UP adventures! It was clean, quiet, and in a beautiful location. Centrally located for trips to Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon and more!
The interior is fairly newly renovated with a well-coordinated color scheme. Most of the seating is very comfortable with footrests. The baseboard heating worked well. The downside is the rental space is the basement in a two story house on a hill; there are 4 windows overlooking a backyard clearing into woods with a fire pit. The humidifier needed to run most of the time but was too loud for us to hear the smart TV. So we turned it off for a couple of hours.
Very enjoyable stay. We will go back again. Everything was clean and accessible. Joan was such a sweetheart we wished we could have spent more time with her. Definitely planning our next trip to stay there. Five stars.
We enjoyed this home away from home which was well maintained. Grand Marais is a lovely town and the home was close to gorgeous views, beaches, trails, all the area has to offer.
Very nice cozy get away beach is close by down the road . Also nice water falls about 10 min. Away( Sable falls) Took a drive along coast line to Munising to do a tour of Picture rocks as well. The only thing I think the place needed was more pots and pans for cooking something. There was one huge pot and one frying pan to use , other than that the place was very nice. Thank you for letting me stay!
We were 2 couples on a SXS trip. Parking was perfect, location was great and unit was comfy after a few days of riding 100 miles each day. Very happy with our choice! Thank you!
