About this property
Something to talk about in Haynie's Corner! Walk anywhere, sleeps 6!
Welcome to The Conversationalist, located in the heart of Haynie's Corner Arts District! This 1910 built home is situated on a beautiful street with a unique and unforgettable touch. Each room represents a different decade, from the roaring 20's, 60's groovy, Midcentury Modern, 80's, to Old Hollywood. The house has been recently updated with new flooring, furniture, and paint throughout, ensuring a fresh and comfortable stay.
The entry and dining areas still boast high ceilings, beautiful transom windows, and are presented with a 1920's flair. Table seats 6 comfortably. A bar cart with vintage crystal drink ware is available to our guests for use. Also included are many different options for murder mystery dinner fun!
The Conversationalist is likely the only home in the historic Evansville area with an actual 1970's conversation pit giving it the ultimate cool factor! Equipped with an electric fireplace and a 55" Smart TV this living room offers cozy and unique atmosphere to relax or socialize. Fair warning though, the funky pit can only be accessed by stepping down onto the bench seating.
The first bedroom features a luxurious king-sized platform bed and is styled in a fun Mid-Centry Modern fashion. Available for use is a raised bedside table, two lamps, full-size dresser, and closet.
The second bedroom offers a comfortable queen-sized bed and provides an Old Hollywood Glam feel. This octagon shaped room has loads of natural light which is why we offer blackout shades. There is a tall-boy dresser and raised bedside table in this room.
The third bedroom is a crowd-pleaser with all the 80's babies! A cozy double-sized bed adorned with the fabulous neon and checks we all love. This room houses the washer and dryer also.
A large, fully tiled, walk-in shower is the main attraction in the updated bathroom. Bath comes fully stocked with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, make-up wash clothes, six sets of towels, and hair dryer.
The fully-equipped kitchen comes with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal, including pots, pans, baking sheets, silverware (8 sets), coffee maker, microwave, plate set for 8, and serving bowls.
Now let's talk about this spectacular location, the back yard leads directly to the public parking next to Sauced in the hip Haynie's Corner district. Guest are just seconds away from the action in both Haynie's Corner, on the Evansville Riverfront, and the walkway district on Main!
Come experience a unique and memorable stay at The Conversationalist!

About the host
Hosted by Liz Miller

Hello! My name is Liz and I, and my husband Ryan, are full-time Real Estate Agents in the Southern Indiana market. We've had a top team in our area, region, and nation for the last 7 years. We have a passion for homes and bringing people together! So it was a natural step to move into providing fun, safe, clean, short-term rentals where people can enjoy all our local area has to offer!
Why they chose this property
This particular home is located on an amazing bricked street and is one of the very first areas to come alive near the riverfront. Directly behind the home, just across the alley, is the fabulous Haynie's Corner area which offers several selections for food, beverages, and entertainment all within walking distance.
What makes this property unique
This property is rich in historical value. While not on the historical registry, it was home to the very first pre-school in Evansville, The Evansville Preschool, which later developed into Evansville Day School! In the early 1970's a family with charismatic charm bought her and installed a very hip, very groovy, conversation pit and fireplace which gives this old gal something very special. The fact that you get old-world charm with the brick street out front with all the amazing fun in the backyard of Haynie's Corner bars and restaurants is a win-win!
