This was a beautiful location in Langford. The portion of the house we stayed in was large and spacious. Our host, who lived on site, was very informative and knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend this to anyone looking to be close to Victoria but in a peaceful setting.

This property was spectacular. The lake setting, the house, the deck, the barge... all just made for a serene, beautiful, and relaxing girls trip. So quiet and both sunrise and sunset were amazing.Downtown Victoria was only a 15 minute drive away and we very much enjoyed our time there.

Perfect Location!

We had a wonderful week at this location. The lake was lovely and it was nice to use the barge to go for a float. The host was very responsive to messages and very accommodating!

Fantastic place

We’ve had a great stay in this lakefront house. Beautiful views, quiet location, clean house with all the supplies we needed in the kitchen and bath. Richard is a great host, very friendly, always available to reach out to us if needed. We had a super fun time on the lake using paddle boards, the barge, making fire - a truly unique experience.

a beautiful spot and great host. No issues at all. We were 6 adults and the bedrooms and bathrooms and kitchen were great. House worked good for someone with mobility issues. The lake was so awesome. Parking was easy. Amenities nearby were great.

Perfect Spot

This was a perfect spot for us. The neighborhood is quiet but yet close to downtown Victoria. Hiking abounds, some just a couple of miles away. The house was just as advertised and accommodated our needs in everyway. The dock and "barge" are a delightful bonus.

Our suburban lake is tucked away in Westshore. a suburb of Victoria. One of several lakes that surround the small capital city. The nesting Bald Eagles, Otters, Raccoons and Deer like it that way. Quiet and calm, except for the children's joyous laughter at the water park across the lake which stops at dinner time.

We rented the house for 3 nights and it worked very well for 4 men each needing their own bed. Beautiful location lakeside.

Peaceful winter paradise

What a lovely place. We had to go to Victoria for the holidays and we had a wonderful time. Quiet and peaceful place right on a lake! It was so nice to come home to after busy days of visiting elderly parents. And the hot tub was wonderful.

Our home is more than just a "summer vacation place" ...Waterlily Lane and Victoria enjoy great weather to go outside to play, discover, explore or just be. The view from the hot tub is worth the price of admission. The proximity to beach walks (Esquimalt Lagoon or East Sooke Park) or hiking and biking trails (Goldstream Provincial Park or Galooping Goose cycle trail) makes Waterlily a place to not only relax but enjoy moving and doing.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Enjoyed the lake but didn't attempt the barge as days were rainy and windy. Owner very accommodating.

Perfect Getaway

Very close to downtown Victoria but far enough away to feel "away from it all". Richard is great and very helpful as a local guide to directions as well as local eats. Loved being on the lake and taking the "Princess" out for a morning cruise watching the sun rise.
Response from VrboOwner on 21 March 2020
I agree with these guests from Calgary, I chose Vancouver Island, Water Lily Lane to live for it's location: waterfront that was close to the city but not in it. Having grown up in Vancouver, worked and lived in San Diego, Auckland and Sidney - I appreciate beautiful cities but prefer being on the edge of them instead of immersed the hustle bustle. The 180 degree view is mostly forest of tall firs and few houses. A sanctuary from urban sprawl.

Beautiful spot

Relaxing and private location. We enjoyed the lake view from patio and covered dock with party barge. Owners were very helpful and gave us some great recommendations on places to see. Fans and portable air conditioner were supplied for the hot weather. Comfy beds and cozy house.

This is a gorgeous property with amazing view of the lake, super fun barge and tiki bar. We all loved the swimming. You could have a wedding or other celebration in the well-kept yard with all the extras. We had a small plumbing problem but were very satisfied with the timeliness of the tap repair. Our host was wonderful! Great place for the whole family!

Great getaway!

I rented the home with 4 other women to host my photography retreat! It was spacious and tidy and we had so much fun on the lake. The canoe and motorized dock were a hit! The fruit trees were all ripe which was another added bonus. Will definitely be back!

Super Chill

Lots of room for our group of 6. Had everything we needed. Fantastic spaces both inside and out to mingle and chill. Awesome grounds, decks and docks. Really great privacy while having all the conveniences of stores and restaurants close by. Spotless. Rich welcomed us warmly and walked us through the property

Lots of fun in a lakeside home

We very much enjoyed our stay at the "Taki Tiki" over the Easter weekend (2017). Our host, Richard, was very helpful and quick in responding to our initial questions for the reservation. The home is well equipped for a "beach" vacation; unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us, but we still hung out on the lakefront, utilized the floating dock for lake tours, sat out on the huge deck and soaked in the hot tub. This is fun house to stay at and we would definitely go back again.

Luckily for us our guests can turn a grey day into sunshine. This couple from Calgary are Jimmy Buffet fans and were welcomed with a shotski before the tour of the property! There is lots to do and see around the area in any weather but this winter was definitely one for the history books. Storm watching on the lake will have to be a new feature I do not want to promote. Bring on summer.

Perfect family reunion

Richard and Peter's property was perfect for our family reunion. They even accommodated our family with an extra suite. We were celebrating graduations and birthdays. The floating barge indeed was a highlight of our trip. Our teenagers were delighted with the canoes and paddle boards. From their beautiful garden to their well equip kitchen - don't hesitate. Book this place for your next perfect getaway.

Great location for exploring Victortia

It's a little haven overllooking the beautiful lake. I really enjoyed the proximity to the Galloping Goose trail. A really nice opportunity to ride this trail, about 14km or an hours ride to Mathieson lLake. Walk around the lake and picnic so a great day or adternoon out. Then you can enjoy dountown Victoria, about 20 minutes drive away. sample a few oysters at The Oyster Bar, on Humboldt St or you can have a great meal at Spinnakers Brew Pub in West Victoria
Response from VrboOwner on 21 March 2020
Nice to see our bikes being used by guests to access the Galloping Goose bike trail system that is world class in its own right. The refurbished Koksilah River Trestle, the largest curved trestle in North America, is open now and will be connected to the Galloping Goose rail trail which goes by the bottom of our lake. Enjoy the bug free fresh air. Richard

A little paradise on Vancouver Island

Imagine: You arrive at Waterlily and expect a tour around the house. Instead the host invites the whole family to join him on the floating deck for a tour around the lake! Brilliant! Although the house was perfect, this place is all about the garden, the lake, the fruittrees and the swimming. It’s a little paradise on Vancouver Island! The host is the best host ever, modest and at the same time very helpful. We live in Europe, but if we ever come back we would certainly visit this wonderful place in Langford again!

If you enjoy a view over water, away from city noise and crowds but close to amenities. If you enjoy making your own meals, getting out on the water with a sup board or quiet electric motored barge you'll enjoy the calmness of Waterlily.

Waterlilly Lane stay

We enjoyed our stay at Waterlily Lane Cottage. The house was perfect for our family with plenty of room, ample equipped kitchen, bedding, towels etc. Plenty of outdoor activities to keep us busy. Would have been good to have noted the large amount of water weeds making swimming uncomfortable, having to use water floatation to get out on the lake far enough to swim. The rope swing and barge were a huge hit. Having the fire pit was a fun night time activity. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Richard.

Great spot for families

Our group of seven (kids ages 2, 5 and 7) had a fantastic vacation at this house! The water toys included were phenomenal and we used them every single day. My in-laws especially enjoyed Richard’s antique canoe. It was also great to have bikes to use. Richard and Peter were excellent, friendly hosts. Some things to note that *may* bother some people: There is no air-conditioning. There are plenty of fans provided, but some of the windows don’t have screens so bugs do get in the house. There were also a ton of fruit flies in the kitchen when we arrived which we were never able to fully get rid of. Our stay was during a very warm week in August, so this would not be a problem all of the time. We have the same issues in our older Seattle home at times so it did not affect our enjoyment of our stay.

Response from VrboOwner on 21 March 2020
This September was unusual for an influx of fruit flies due to a bumper crop of grapes on the vines that run alongside the property line. Next year we will pick the fruit sooner and install finer mesh to eradicate any flying.
